Really fell apart. Lewis looked overmatched.

Anya is not playable. Guys are just jumping around and over his fat ass to get rebounds, and he's really easy to screen on account of being a lard ass. If I'm an opposing coach, I run pick and roll with whoever Lewis and Anya are guarding.

Hope the other guys learn how to run the offense. Looks like we have better foot speed than last year, so there is at least the potential to play defense well and hustle for plays.

Warren is a beast, needless to say

I fell asleep at halftime. Sounds like I missed a great game.

Very encouraged for about 32 minutes, but poor shooting and some questionable calls seemed to kill the teams confidence down the stretch. In all honesty having Vandenberg back is going to be a big plus. None of te freshmen bigs played poorly, but they picked up some bad fouls and don't add much on the offensive end. Having Vandy back slides all of the freshmen down a peg in the rotation. Need to keep building chemistry through some of these shit OOC games until that Tennessee/Missouri stretch.

I actually thought Anya was out most serviceable big man in this game...

We need a big man that can come in and rebound. He does that pretty effectively.

Anya showed much more promise in this game, but he is still a huge liability in pick and roll defense.

Think we need to find a go-to scorer in crunch time. Late in the game we just kept passing it around despite needing quick baskets. Was hoping Lee would take that role as he seemed to be a volume shooter at his junior college, but he wasn't asserting himself on offense. He really should be what we hoped from Purvis last season. Good on D and aggressive attacking the rim and getting to the FT line.

Can't really be upset with the rebounding. We were out rebounded by a good rebounding team 43-36. Not much you can complain about.

For a really young team in their second game of the season on the road against a good team, I think we were very respectable.

Excited to see Lee take over games because he seems very capable.

^^^That's exactly what Lee was doing in the first half, but he stopped in the second. The only real problem I saw was that we were settling for long jumpers (most of them contested) quite a bit which is why we shot so poorly in the second half. Seems like the offense is still out of sorts a bit particularly for the bigs which is a problem since everything runs off their movement.

I'm still pretty hopeful for this team, but after watching the pre-season final four last night, I saw just how far we were from that level.

I felt differently about Lee last night. I felt like he should step his game up some.

He was a very touted JC transfer and, in my opinion, didn't really live up to what I was expecting.

Now it could've had something to do with those questionable calls as he was getting hammered going to the rim a few times but in all honesty he did into really impress me as much as I wanted and hoped.

Anya needs to work on his feet. Especially defending the high pick and roll. He cost us 3 points in a crucial time when he helped double screen Cat off the shooter. cat couldn't recover bc Anya is so big and he had a defensive lapse

TJ has got to be the man. He needs to take over the offense when we get cold. It's his team now and heeds to be more aggressive

Overall though I felt really positive about this game. I feel that even with a lot of questionable calls, especially in that three-minute stretch, where they missed the goal tend, that we were still in the game. If we would not have ve went cold and our bigs would've made their shots around the rim, combined with poor free-throw shooting we could possibly won that game.

I like the way this team plays together they never really gave up. they had some adversity and got frustrated.

GOTT is going to have do a better job on the sidelines as well. He should have called a few timeouts to settle the team down.

I think we had already used two time-outs in the first 5 minutes of the second half.

Correct, but I felt the game was getting away from us and we are too young to leave them out there

6 men on the court was his fault

Tyler Lewis used two timeouts because he got trapped and we used one or two others trying to in bound the ball. Gott didnt have much to work with there.

I forget which TO it was, but there was one in the second half when Lewis was double teamed in the backcourt with no help. The whole team just left him there and waited for him to break the double team on his own. That was frustrating, but it will be corrected. I liked watching the team yesterday, they played much better than I was expecting. Everyone plays hard and most importantly there was no sulking (from what I saw) when things went wrong. I already appreciate this team more than last season's.

I only got to watch the first half on account of a 6 pm class, but overall I liked what I saw. The Vandy injury is good in that Anya gets to have some much-needed time on the floor so his weaknesses can be assessed and begun to be corrected. He didn't look terrible out there, just a big freshman. He looks more serviceable than Vandy from two years ago or even last year, which is very encouraging. The announcers talked about how much weight he lost, and sure he probably has another 30-40 pounds to go. That wingspan really is ungodly, and I think years 2-4 of his career look very promising.

I liked what I saw from Lee, again I only saw the first half. He slashes better than Purvis and I think he's gonna be the go-to guy in set plays late in the game.

Turner fashions to be Wood 2.0 with better hope for a game inside the arc too.

Barber totally looked like a freshman out there but with serious speed, skills, and potential.

Didn't get a good enough look at Washington on account of the foul trouble.

Has there really been a difference in Vandy's play over the course of his career here? That being said, I do expect him to be much improved this year.

I think Jaybee is more annoying because he long-windilly tries to defend his trolling. But I agree Earl sucks and is a bigger troll.

Vandy redshirted 2 seasons ago, but I think he looked more serviceable in '10-'11 (sophomore year) than he did last year.

Vandy was never serviceable. Please stop. I know you like to be the superfan, but good God Vandy sucks. It's his fifth year. So for five years he has got to attend NCSU for free to play basketball and suck.

Vandy sucks....I honestly cannot wait until he is out of here. Never seen so much talk and chatter about a player that is a waste of a scholarship.

Jaybee was just a much better troll than Earl and obvious posted way more which made him nearly impossible to ignore. Thankfully Ernie ran him off.

I am notearl and I am not a troll. if calling out cj leslie for being the problem is trolling then yes, i am a huge troll i guess. I'm just pointing out how funny you guys are for making a moral victory out of the fact that CJ Leslie did not play in this game.

Quote :
"I like the way this team plays together they never really gave up."

these are basic things in sports stressed in grade school. it is absolutely required of scholarship athletes and is shocking when it doesn't happen. the fact that you guys are happy to see something like this shows just how much of a laughingstock our program really is. i don't know if that aspect is solely a lowe thing or if it has spread but its definitely something bilas called us out for on his blogcast about toughness.

So basically CJ leslie was not on the floor? the same guy who you "non trolls" worshiped for cute dunks all year.

Look notEarl, I know you're trolling, but you have to remember all the people who talked shit about CJ Leslie last year and some who even cheered his decision to leave (I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt though and would have been happy if he came back)
