Is that the first time in history a ball carrier has gotten called for unnecessary roughness during an active play?

I still cant believe they called a penalty on that, you can use a stiff arm, why not a stiff leg? If the punter didn't want to get trucked he should have stayed off the field.

^^ Arms aren't covered in metal spikes.

Or maybe it's just 15 yards for being too stupid to not run around a punter.

I still fail to see how it is a penalty (not to mention that they aren't metal cleats, they are plastic). He was going to hurdle the guy and instead of the punter making a football move and going for a tackle he fell back like he just shit himself.

vinylbandit wouldn't have a problem if someone pulled a steel chair out from the sidelines while the referee was knocked out, if that gives you any idea of his opinion on this matter

Probably commercials

That graph doesn't really take into account things like pre-play adjustments and audibles, but it's not really a revelation overall either. A game is 60 minutes so no shit 2 hours and 12 minutes of the 3 hour 12 minute broadcast aren't live action. Also if there were 60 minutes of live action, we'd see a lot of concussions and deaths. That would be great...

^^ I agree with everything you state. But there's so much crap that can be taken out of a game and nothing would be lost. We used to get football games done in 3 hours and now it's 3 and a half, and some college games take 4.

The NFL is much better than college football when it comes to long games. NFL games are almost always right at 3 hours or 3 and some change. It's like clockwork almost...games start at 1, end right around 4:15, and then the next slate of games start. College games are almost all 4+ hours.

^^^The implementation of instant replay certainly adds time. But going from 3 hours to 3.5 hours isn't a HUGE deal imo.

Baseball games are too long. Especially Yankees Red Sox games on ESPN. Those are like 4.5 hours assuming it ends in 9 innings.

His fucking knee was down twice. And it wasn't close at all. Jesus.

I'm all for making sure you get calls right and being able to review them...but some of this comes down to poor officiating or relying too much on reviews. If it's this obvious, just make a definitive call on the field

Does Trent Richardson have the worst YPC of any 1st round running back in the last 10 years? Dunno how to find that stat but it wouldn't surprise me.

^ You're not putting enough weight on the public backlash. Someone will be forced to bring down a more severe punishment. If Goodell won't do it, the Ravens will have to.

If the Ravens don't beat the NFL to getting rid of him it's a shame IMO

From what I'm reading online, the fans don't want him anymore

Yo, Tree. You got questions and I've got answers way too much free time at work right now.

Starting with the 2012 draft (when Richardson was picked), I went all the way back to the 2000 draft. In those 13 draft classes, 39 running backs were drafted in the first round. Trent Richardson comes in at dead fucking last in yards per carry with a whopping 3.3 yards per tote (461 career carries).

Furthermore, of the 39 RBs selected in the 1st round, only 9 averaged less than 4.0 YPA.

Trent Richardson, 2012 (3.3 YPA, 461 carries)
Jahvid Best, 2010 (3.7 YPA, 255 carries)
Rashard Mendenhall, 2008 (3.9 YPA, 1081 carries)
Cedric Benson, 2005 (3.8 YPA, 1600 carries)
Cadillac Williams, 2005 (3.8 YPA, 1055 carries)
Chris Perry, 2004 (3.4 YPA, 177 carries)
William Green, 2002 (3.7 YPA, 568 carries)
TJ Duckett, 2002 (3.9 YPA, 717 carries)
Ron Dayne, 2000 (3.8 YPA, 983 carries)

It's certainly feasible that Richardson could pass Chris Perry this year, but it'd take a pretty significant jump for him to get past anybody else on this list...after Perry, the next closest is 3.7 YPA.

It's also interesting to note that Trent Richardson, through his first two seasons had 455 carries. Of the other 8 players that averaged less than 4.0 YPA, only Cadillac Williams had more carries in his first two seasons (515).

In conclusion, Trent Richardson is hot garbage.

Doing this, I stumbled over some names I hadn't seen in a really long time. Kevin Jones, Jahvid Best, Laurence Maroney....to name a few.

I may go back a few years further to see if anybody else can challenge Richardson.

He and Fassel didn't get along cause he wouldn't lose weight
Coach gets fired, he immediately sheds 40 lbs for Coughlin and he barely sees the field again for NYG

I'd give the Ravens credit for having more respect for women than Roger Goodell, but they only did it because of the public backlash of the video that the NFL had already seen. so, fuck them anyhow.

She did take a swing or two at him in that video. Doesn't justify knocking her unconscious, but if you're gonna throw punches at an NFL running back....

Then I'm cool to knock her out?

He did hit her first (in the elevator at least).

The second that video was released, his career ended. I hope he saved his money.
