Yeah I have always wondered at what point it becomes ok to start fighting back when a woman starts going crazy on you. Never put it past women to know the dude is almost always gonna get blamed when they want to get back at you for something.

The woman's story is just so surreal, and if true, Hardy is psychopath who should be behind bars. The way she describes it, he was basically raging and smashing her around like the Hulk, eventually throwing her onto a pile of loaded guns. Did she seek medical attention for serious injuries? Like people have said, it looks like a case of he said she said with no reliable witnesses.

She didn't seek medical attention. And despite her claims of him throwing her into a bathtub, throwing her on a couch full of dozens of weapons, and strangling the shit out of her, she had no marks on her neck and only some minor scrapes and bruises. And for some reason the police made no mention in their report of his dozens of assault weapons.

She sounds crazy as fuck, based on what I've read and heard, comparing the police report, 911 calls, statements, etc.

Apparently they are still going to make him turn over all his guns. Hell, if this ends with that, then we should be happy. Our best defensive player just got rid of a crazy gf and no longer has any guns to get himself into trouble with

She supposedly didn't show up in court today and her attorney withdrew from the case.

This is looking better and better for him and more like the chick is crazy as shit.

Didn't show up for civil case to get a restraining order, criminal case still active

But yeah, that kind of hurts her credibility a little bit

no prob

He really stumped for Nate and Byron hard in that interview. It made me feel a little more relaxed about the situation knowing that he genuinely felt like we were going to be just fine there.

from the Gettleman interview:

Quote :
"He talked about the LT situation, where he had Kelvin Benjamin and Marqise Lee on his draft board, Smitty’s exit, and his expectations for 2014-20015"

LT situation?

left tackle, where we currently are planning to either trot out one of the following:

Byron Bell, an awful right tackle
Nate Chandler, a former tight end and defensive lineman
or some other awful scrub that is somehow less qualified to be starting left tackle than the other 2 options

biggest thing I took from that article:

Quote :
"But talk to Panthers’ coaches or front-office personnel about Cotchery and one of the first things they mention is his eagerness to work with the team’s young receivers. It was Steve Smith’s perceived unwillingness to help develop the younger wideouts that played a part in the Panthers’ decision to release their all-time receiving leader.

Where Smith was loud and boisterous, Cotchery is quiet and reserved.

Smith, now with the Baltimore Ravens, punctuated his catches by spinning the ball and was often in the face (or faces) of teammates and opposing players alike.

Cotchery’s wife said he’s spun the ball once – 10 years ago as a rookie after his 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against St. Louis."

I will never bash Smith because I absolutely loved watching him play. That being said, that comment makes a lot of sense to me.

The Steve Smith thing kinda makes you wonder. We've had quite a few highly drafted WRs flame out over the years. Jarret, Lafell, Colbert, and a bunch of lower draft picks who also never panned out. It's a frankly statistical oddity that not a single Panther WR drafted since Smitty (13 years ) has developed into a Pro Bowl caliber player. It kinda tarnishes his legacy a bit if you consider that he may have had something to do with that.

I don't think it tarnishes his future-HOF legacy as much as it just shows he was more worried about playing at an elite level than helping someone take his job

if you help develop a couple 26 year old ballers, and you're 35, you're not gonna see much action on 2 back or 2 TE sets

wonder how many career receiving yards Smith has against the Falcons. Probably like a million.

It's really not his job, there's a WR coach, how hard is it for him to be an nfl vet that could tell them exactly what Steve would

The only people who would say he was a horrible teammate are a couple practice squad scrubs and an overrated corner. And jealous fans of rival teams. Haters gonna hate on All Pros.

I, too, don't realize that football practices can make people who hit each other for a living get frustrated, and am incapable of forgiving mistakes made on the field.

so Benjamin and Turner both signed, I think that's all the draft picks iirc

I wish Kaepernick had gotten less money. Cam is gonna get a fortune next off-season. It's gonna force us to cut some other core players. And the Deangelo/Stewart cuts probably won't come for a year after that, based on salary cap impact.

Kaepernick's contract is actually really good for the 49ers. It's only guaranteed against injury and they can cut him before the start of each season without paying him squat. There's also an inordinate amount of money tied up in roster bonuses and the total payout goes down by $2 million each year of the contract until the 49ers make the Super Bowl again or Kaepernick makes All-Pro. Panthers would be lucky if Cam signed a similar contract.

I guess some of the verbiage does protect the 49ers a lot. When I first heard $61 million guaranteed and $124 million or whatever overall, I just figured it would fuck their ability to re-sign other key players.

If the Panthers can sign Cam to anything approaching Kaepernick's deal, I'll be thrilled. Kaepernick would have a hard time collecting all of that $126M even if he won 4 straight MVPs.
