^^^ I'm normally pessimistic on things but give it a shot. One of the key talents to me required of an auto racing driver is car control. This should help separate the men from the boys when it comes to car control.

^exactly

reduced down force means more time off throttle and that's when you need a good driver the most

^see, thats where i disagree with alot of people when it comes to NASCAR. "Good racing" is not defined by lead changes. The last Coke 600 I went to was the best race I've seen and there were 2-3 dominant cars in that race. However the racing from 4-30 was intense and going all night long. It just seems now you have 1-3 dominant cars that run up front and then from 4-30 everyone gets spaced out. What fun is it to watch a conveyor belt of cars that are all about 8 tenths off of each other because they can't pass because of aero?

Turn to NBC, this is unreal.

Welp they crashed.

What year was the 600 you went to with "great" racing. I was at the 500 down there 2 years ago and it put me to sleep.

Also the MotoGP race this morning was excellent.

1998 or 1999. The one Jeff Burton won over Bobby Labonte. I'm talking about when NASCAR racing was good, not 2 years ago.

I figured that.

I still say indy cars don't belong on ovals, but man that was entertaining, and no one died.

i have to watch indy on ovals with one eye closed. They're always one mistake from someone either being dead or seriously, seriously injured. Takes some real balls to do that shit.

its still good at the non down force tracks IMO

Indycar has an aero decision to make for the big ovals. in 2015 texas was boring but safer, fontana was fun but way more dangerous.

Kyle Busch wins Sonoma. Question is, will he be high enough in the points to be able to make it into the Chase?

NASCAR race was the worst of the weekend as usual.

Take that back, I turned to formula E for a few minutes. I couldn't believe the fuckery I was seeing. Pit stops were car swaps.

Wouldn't call Texas boring. The drivers had to work for it as the tires fell off a lot in speed over the course of their runs.

I bet they could sell out the race if they made the July race on the road course. They could also run it in the rain so weather would no longer matter.

They should be happy, NASCAR is not going head to head with the World Cup.

NBC's crew is dull, we need some boogity boogity boogity in our lives.

No one was going to "die", they'd of just got a hot oil bath and smacked by some car parts. The Carl Edwards incident a few years ago was much worse from a fan perspective.

With that said I told tt10 that Jr had it in the bag 10 laps into the race.

NASCAR needs to add plexiglass between the fence and grandstand.

Start with the Chase, add Richmond and the 500. That race isn't even top 15.

funny that NASCAR fans don't know what by far the biggest race in their sport is and accuse me of trolling

http://www.jayski.com/news/pages/story/_/page/NASCAR-Televison-Ratings-2015#chart

guess it's just coincidence that the 500 has higher ratings than any other race

arent you the guy who still claims that no spectator has ever died at a motorsports race?

When did I claim no spectator has died? And if you watch the video, he hit right in front of a packed grandstand. I mean I know you are a troll, but you gotta do better.

You should probably leave our NASCAR thread since you can't do simple math.

2.5 miles X 160 = 400

2.5 miles X 200 = 500

Ok my bad, I was clearly wrong since I thought the 500 was last night. But I wasn't trolling, since the 500 is definitely the biggest race.

And it was after some fan died at a baseball game I think and you were rambling on about how nobody had ever died at a NASCAR race. I think you were also claiming that NASCAR drivers were more of athletes than basketball players too.

I don't know how you can't fathom that a piece of metal flying at 200mph might hit a spectator and kill them. I mean "kill" them

If you think the Daytona 500 is July 4th weekend then you should never post in a NASCAR thread.

A NASCAR has never flown into the stands. The fence works.

The fence does work, and props to it. It also worked when Kyle tried to cut off Smoke a couple years ago and he got sent into the fence. But debris can still get through. Hot, metal debris flying at high speeds. It's not exactly perfectly safe to sit in the stands at a super speedway.

It is if you aren't a cheap fuck and sit in the bottom rows. Honestly I don't know why they even sell those seats since you can't see anything that low. When I go to tracks I get seats as high up as I can reasonably afford. Although I refuse to go to the upper deck at tracks like Charlotte because I'm a pussy about heights.

I won't be surprised if they do a plexi-glass wall a few feet back from the fence to protect the fans.

Meh, I think they need to do something about that sudden stop from hitting the fence.
