I'm in the same boat. Picked up Cutler.
Lots of the other options are facing good defenses

is "stream" a new fantasy word? hadn't really heard it till this year. 10/31/2017 1:41:25 PM |
stixman All American 3608 Posts user info edit post |
probably not relevant to this situation since I am only picking up someone for one week, but it's used pretty regularly for defenses and kickers when picking them up week to week.
Thanks for the insight TreeTwista10 10/31/2017 1:48:55 PM |

Yeah, using "stream" to describe a fluid position on your team where you play the best available matchup from available players is not a new thing.
Obviously you most likely aren't streaming WR/RB in any normal league, but streaming DEF/K is extremely common, as well as TE and occasionally QB.
I usually stream a defense until I end up with a really good one. Only took me 2 weeks to get Jacksonville this year. 10/31/2017 3:11:02 PM |

"stream" has been in the fantasy lexicon for a long time, though it's most often used in football to refer to defenses, in case your strategy is just to add and drop whoever plays the Browns each week, or pitchers in fantasy baseball, in case you're potentially sacrificing things like ERA and WHIP to get quantitative advantages in strikeouts, wins, etc.

i'm trying to get alfred morris
tyring to decide if i should drop JStew or Funchess. I was leaning Funchess but with KB gone, thinking he might get volume now and JStew will struggle even more.
I also have Bell, Mckinnon and AP at RB and Demaryus, Crabtree and Cooks at WR (i know hot garbage but i'm somehow still in contention.
Anyway, dump funch or stew? 10/31/2017 10:30:16 PM |

I have a guy offering me any of the following for Doug Baldwin;
Chris Thompson Christian McCaffrey Aaron Jones Alvin Kamara
The league is 0.5ppr and also gives points for return yardage. Right now Chris Thompson is the highest scoring one of the bunch, and ranked as the #7 RB in our league so far. McCaffrey and Kamara are pretty close. Jones is obviously the lowest, but has scored the most over the last 3 weeks.
Who should I take? 11/1/2017 7:47:57 AM |

Stewart if you're dead set on picking up Morris. Funchess has upside as the top redzone target now as well as playing in his preferred wr position.
Quote : | "Chris Thompson Christian McCaffrey Aaron Jones Alvin Kamara" |
This is tough. I like all of them. Thompson is the most explosive player on the Redskins offense and can be counted on for half a dozen receptions a game. I think McCaffrey is basically a poor man's Thompson. Jones is intriguing because the Packers are clearly going to rely more on the running game with Hundley at QB. Kamara is good running and receiving, but he's in a fairly even timeshare with Ingram so you never know who's going to get the stats.
I'd probably say Thompson is the safest bet and that Jones has the highest ceiling.11/1/2017 10:06:55 AM |

Think Jones has a higher ceiling with Montgomery finally getting healthy?
I'd say the person on that list with the highest ceiling is Kamara, because if Ingram does down he's going to be a top 5-8 fantasy back.
I can't see Thompson or McCaffrey being more than they currently are. I think even with another Montgomery injury you're seeing the peak of Jones right now. Teams are just going to keep stacking the box and learn how to defend Hundley better with the more film he puts out. 11/1/2017 11:11:06 AM |

Supposed to have a hearing today, but I would say the chances are low. I just like being ahead of the curve. Also it's a keeper league so who knows.. 11/1/2017 3:35:36 PM |

^^^^^Thompson is a top 7-8 PPR RB. Of course he's not going to have a much higher ceiling than that. But he's proven that he's very capable at what he does.
Jones has been easily the best back in GB. He'll stay the lead back and Montgomery will be the 3rd down guy when he's healthy.
And sure kamara has a high ceiling IF Ingram gets hurt. But you could say that about a bunch of backs.
I think my order would be Thompson/Jones/Kamara/McCaffrey

Montgomery only added value for his ability to motion from receiver to RB and be somewhat serviceable as a running back on a pass-happy offense. His 3.5 yards per carry were not what you want to see in the backfield, and he got stuffed at the line consistently on obvious running plays. With Rodgers gone, Montgomery offers very little to help the Packers over a true running back like Jones. If teams do stack the box to shut down the run with Hundley at the helms, Montgomery becomes even more useless. Green Bay also tends to run the ball more as it gets colder, and it's quickly getting cold.
Hopefully Hundley is not as bad at QB as everyone seems to be making him out to be. A bye week and a soft Lions secondary may be just what he needs to get settled in.
McCaffery still has a bye week 11, so assuming he's equal in pass catching ability to Thompson and Kamara, that makes him less desirable in my opinion.
I think my order of preference would be: 1A) Aaron Jones 1B) Keep Baldwin. Seattle seems ready to abandon the run, and Baldwin did much better in the second half of 2015 and 2016 than the first half. Unless you really need RB help, you may not be getting equal value. 2) Chris Thompson - easily the best receiver on his team, and his stats prove it. 3) Alvin Kamara 4) Christian McCaffrey11/1/2017 6:35:31 PM |

I got Kamara for Baldwin. He decided he wanted to keep Jones and Thompson so it was either Kamara or McCaffrey, so I went with Kamara since he has already had his bye and seems to have more upside in a more stable offense.
My other receivers are Evans, Cooks, Hogan and D. Thomas. My RBs were much worse or I wouldn't have made this trade. 11/2/2017 7:42:32 AM |

Quote : | "And sure kamara has a high ceiling IF Ingram gets hurt. But you could say that about a bunch of backs. " |
But in that trade, can you really say that about ANY of the other RBs?
Jones - Montgomery goes down, does his value drastically change? It's still an offense without a real QB with 2 OTs that have been banged up throughout the year. Thompson - his value changes NONE if Kelley gets hurt, they've already said they have a set pitch count for him per game so injuries aren't going to change his value. McCaffrey - JStew could go down and his usage isn't going to drastically change. He might see a few more carries and a target or two less, but it's not a game-changer.
Kamara - He's already a top 20 RB in PPR and if Ingram were to go down(he misses at least 1 game most seasons with injuries and he fumbled last week and was seen arguing with Payton) then Kamara is a top 10 RB.11/2/2017 7:54:34 AM |

The other backs in that trade scenario aren't being held back by a timeshare with an established starter with a similar skill set. Playing behind Ingram severely limits Kamara's upside. They have better value right now because they're getting the snaps. Kamara is very talented, but his limited touches make him less desirable when compared to Johnson and Jones.
Johnson is a top 7-8 PPR RB, McCaffrey is top 12-15. Jones has been on fire since he's been the starter (so much so that Montgomery is basically useless in fantasy now). As I said, Kamara is worth much more in a keeper league than in a standard league and as such he gets bottomed on this list.]11/2/2017 5:31:14 PM |

Alvin Kamara looked pretty damn good this week, even with a healthy Ingram.
Think Tate is playing this week, he was removed from the injury report last week. Think he was actually hurt prior to last week's game and he still managed to play and go 7 for 86.
The match-up screams a big game for Tate...but I just have a bad feeling Stafford shits the bed @GB tonight with the rivalry game and likely not needing a ton of points with Hundley at QB. 11/6/2017 3:43:44 PM |

I was down ~86-121.54 going into last night's game. had Marvin Jones and DET going, and my opponent was done. Pregame project finish was ~106-121.54.
Before the final drive, I was up ~124-121.54. then that final drive happened.... DET couldn't lose so they just set back and let GB drive the field with a minute left and no timeouts. PI in the endzone as the clock expires, which puts GB on the 1 with 0:00, and they just punch it in.
final score: 121.16-121.54 11/7/2017 8:32:46 AM |

I'd keep Taylor as he has a higher ceiling with Benjamin in, Clay coming back, and is more mobile.
That said - I do think Rivers' floor is bit higher as he was did respectable with a tough start of season and it gets easier fro the Chargers after this Jacksonville game. 11/7/2017 12:03:07 PM |
