that reason being they've played 1 less game than the Canes.

I understand that's a difficult concept though.

^^^wrong. Ottawa has the tiebreaker since they have the superior points percentage (same points in fewer games). Check out the bottom of http://www.nhl.com/standings/20052006/conference_standings.html for the tiebreakers.

^^ Don't be on your own team, it only leads to douchebaggery like your groundless bias against Aaron Ward.

Damn. If we get beat by damn ATL and Buffalo tops the Sens, then its possible we could be playing Buffalo at home the season finale to decide best record in the East....
Of course the Sens would have to lose some more, but its possible...

Holy shit...slightly off topic, but BC just hit the post with two seconds left in the NCAA Final, and Wisconsin won the title 2-1.

It doesn't hurt that this year's Frozen Four was hosted by Wisconsin.

Especially with line shuffling for the purposes of resting Brind'Amour, etc., and Kaberle/Ward/Stillman/Whitney held out when they didn't have to be.

GG Montreal. The Canes' fate is in their own hands now.

Also GG Ovechkin for getting goal #49 and point #100 tonight, and also for being pied in the face by Jeff Halpern during the post game interview.

montreal is a much different team

as you all have yet to face Huet as a starter

i would seriously not be hoping for the habs

they'd take the series the way they are playing now

Plz to see the thread in Chit Chat

I'd rather face Brodeur than Huet at this moment.

On top of that, the Habs beating Ottawa with motherfucking David Aebischer.

If you'd asked me who got the better end of the Garon/Huet deal when it happened, I would've said LA by a country mile.

P.S. Huet played in the famous double-shutout at the RBC in '04.

Quote :
"ATLANTA, GA (April 9, 2006) - OLN, the cable home of the National Hockey League, today unveiled multi-tiered plans for the NHL playoffs, which center around the network’s recently unveiled marketing campaign, “The Quest for the Cup.” The network anticipates airing up to 52 playoff games, as well as the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final. The number of playoff games will vary depending upon the length of each individual series. In addition to game coverage, the network will be adding hockey-themed programming to run throughout the playoffs. From documentaries and dramatic films to classic games and original series, hockey fans will be able to satisfy their hockey cravings at OLN and OLNTV.com which, from April 21 - June 7, become “Hockey Central” as 16 teams go to battle during The Quest for the Cup.

Each week night, beginning April 21, the network will feature approximately six hours of hockey content, which will include one to two playoff games, as well as a studio wrap-up show. NBC will carry weekend coverage of the playoffs. In total, OLN will present more than 260 hours of hockey and hockey-themed content.

“Each night we are turning over our network to the hockey fan,” said Gavin Harvey, president of OLN. “This is what we do, we super-serve the fan and immerse them in the sport. Between our excellent game coverage and our bonus programming, fans will be able to come to OLN to live and breathe hockey throughout the NHL playoffs.”

The Games:
In the conference quarterfinals, from April 21-May 3, OLN anticipates covering 15 -20 games. This is also true of the conference semi-finals, which run from May 5-May 17. During the conference finals, which will take place from May 19-June 2, the network will present both series, anywhere between 7 and 12 games, depending on series outcomes. OLN’s Stanley Cup coverage will culminate with the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final on June 5 and June 7. The network will also take advantage of hi-definition technology, presenting one series in both the quarterfinals and semi-finals in HD, as well as both series in the conference finals. Games one and two of the Stanley Cup Final will also be available in hi def. Throughout the playoffs, OLN will, when feasible, simulcast games from Canadian networks and domestic regional networks covering the playoffs, thereby giving hockey fans access to even more playoffs action.

Additional Hockey Content:
In addition to the game coverage and studio shows, OLN has acquired rights to hockey-themed content. Final schedules will be determined after the regular season concludes, but featured programming includes:

• On the Fly: Final
The show features live look-ins to every NHL game, every night, all across the League. It also includes
interviews, highlights, features, pre- and post-game reports, team press conferences and expert analysis from a variety of hockey veterans.
• NHL Classic Games
Classic NHL Games featuring some of the most exciting game plays and upsets in the NHL’s history.
• Legends of Hockey -- Series 1 and 2
The series examines the rich history of North American hockey, from the game's earliest days to the creation of the NHL, from the glory days of the original six teams, to expansion and beyond.
• Lord Stanley’s Cup
Narrated by ardent hockey fan Denis Leary, Lord Stanley’s Cup follows the story of the Cup from inception to its annual summer tour with that year’s championship NHL team.
• Mark Messier Fantasy Camp
Thirty-five campers got to live out their ultimate hockey fantasy at "The Mark Messier Leadership Camp." Mark, along with game greats Mike Richter, Stephane Matteau, Glenn Anderson and Adam Graves, showed these 35 the time of their lives on and off the ice as they competed for the first annual "Captain's Cup." Mark reveals some of the secrets that made him one of the great leaders in all of sport and how each person attending could apply these lessons in their own life. This combination of on-ice fantasy and off-ice guidance made the camp an experience no one will ever forget.
• Team Spirit
Jordin and Terence Tootoo were the first Inuit brothers to play in the NHL. When older brother Terence committed suicide, Jordin was left to realize his dreams on his own. Team Spirit, a documentary, tells their story.
• The Tournament
An outrageous six-part comedy shot mockumentary-style, The Tournament chronicles the trials and tribulations of an underdog youth hockey team whose players are all heart and whose parents are all headaches.
• Youngblood
A skilled young hockey prospect (Rob Lowe) hoping to attract the attention of professional scouts is pressured to show that he can fight if challenged during his stay in a Canadian minor hockey town.

VOD:
Each night OLN features a playoff match up, the network will deliver a condensed highlight version of the game that will be distributed via the network’s VOD platform. These will be available the morning after game play, so that hockey fans who may have missed the game the night before can make sure they do not miss out on the action.

OLNTV.com:
OLN’s web site will continue to provide exhaustive information about the NHL and The Quest for the Cup, including editorial coverage from some of the most knowledgeable hockey sources. For the playoffs, specifically, the web site will ramp up daily coverage to include highlights from all of OLN’s games as well as daily insider video featuring OLN’s talent. Each night after the studio show, OLN’s talent will film web-exclusive content that will give an insider scoop on what has happened to-date in the playoffs, as well as their predictions for the future. The web site will unveil interactive elements for fans, including polls and contests, when the playoffs begin on April 21. "
