I was eight points ahead of this guy going in to the late game. After Hassleback and Rod Smith on his team played and none on mine played, I'm still ahead. Yay.
Just Kasay and LJ Smith on my team versus Westbrook are left. This is going to be close.

yeah, I've had Torry Holt, Javon Walker and Andre Johnson as a solid 3 headed receiver tandem this season, but over the last 4 or 5 weeks they havent been producing for me at all
I've also got Brees as my QB and Larry Johnson and Warrick Dunn as my RB's
and I've lost 3 of my last 4 (as long as I win this week that is), dropped from 1st place to 5th
they better produce in the damn playoffs 12/4/2006 11:37:29 PM |

Alright first round of playoffs against 2 teams, bottom scorer goes home:
Cadillac Williams or Sammy Morris
Pick 2: Reggie Brown Jerricho Cotchery Joey Galloway
I'm leaning Sammy Morris, just because Cadillac has been nothing but a let down all season, although he was decent the couple games before going against the Steelers.
All year long I've kept Galloway as the starter and picked between Jerricho and Reggie, but I think this might be the week to leave Galloway on the sidelines.

I've been doing very well in the past few weeks. I have one more game this week and then the playoffs. I should go in as the 2 or 3 seed, so I'll play the same guy either way. I'm averaging 149 points over the past 5 weeks and the #1 seed is averaging 141. The #2 seed right now has lost 2 in a row and I've won 3 in a row going into this week, so I'm happy. I beat the last guy I played 149-96, and that was without Colston as my TE.
With him back I should be in very good shape.
I have Cotchery and Galloway as well, they fight it out for my 3rd slot behind Fitzgerald and Holt. I'll be going with Cotchery this week.
At RB I have LT, and I think I'm going to start the Deuce this week since Dunn has not been doing anything lately.
I've got Miami and New England to choose from at defense. I am picking NE this week. I think they just have too many weapons.
QB is a toss up weekly between Harrington and Big Ben, but I'm going with Ben against Cleveland. 12/5/2006 4:51:31 PM |

Need some ideas... Brees or Eli at QB? Defense?
bold are my current starters
QB: (start 1) Brees @ DAL E Manning @ CAR Tough matchups for both.... On the wire: Leinart vs SEA and Gradkowski vs ATL appear to be the only possible options. I just don't know about Brees or Manning this week with their match-ups.
DEF: Miami vs NE Denver @ SD or pick up someone off the wire (STL vs CHI, DET vs MIN, WSH vs PHI, TB vs ATL, HOU vs TEN or TEN vs HOU, ARI vs SEA) 12/5/2006 11:25:24 PM |

I would start brees based on the fact that eli has only had 1 good game in the last 4 weeks..
For defense I woudl start Miami. I have Denver too and am probably going to regret keeping them as my starter. 12/5/2006 11:56:57 PM |

I was 5 Steve Smith yards away from the playoffs.
Lost by 1 point in the last regular season game, so I finished 7th when I would have finished 4th, out of a 6 team playoffs, and if I would have tied I would have been in 5th or 6th at least.

^Watch everything this week, and sew up any holes you have with a waiver wire pick-up. Some teams that sew up playoff spots will bench their starters so keep that in mind. 12/6/2006 12:03:25 PM |

Yet one more question this week:
Pittsburgh D vs. Cleveland, or Cincinatti D vs. Oakland
Both are great matchups. CBS Sportsline has Pit ranked higher than Cin this week. On the other hand the Steelers are missing both their safeties this week, and the Bengals have been on a crazy defensive tear the last couple weeks. 12/6/2006 12:09:01 PM |

Pitt and Cincy being good defenses?
Not really. Maybe average, but if you aren't in the top 5-7 defensively, I don't think you can be considered good. Most leagues have 1-14 teams, so having the tenth best defense or worst doesn't mean anything. Having the tenth best RB is one thing, but you usually only play and carry one DEF.
I wouldnt trust either of those defenses for consistency. Pitt has given up more than 20 points in all their recent games except the most recent against a weak Tampa Bay team. Cincy isn't a great defense, but fortunately they don't have to be with some of the offenses they've played. I would definitely go with them against Oakland, considering that Oakland could screw up a free lunch at this point in the season. 12/6/2006 3:51:14 PM |

P Manning @ Jax or M Vick @ TB
Play 2 RBs: B "Feast or Famine" Jacobs @ Car W McGahee @ NYJ L Betts vs Phi K Jones vs Minn
NE D @ Mia (consistent D up against Brown-less Miami offense led by Joey Harrington) or SD D vs Den (up against a rookie QB @ home; many turnovers possible) 12/6/2006 4:19:22 PM |

I need to win 1 of the next 2 games in order to lock up the last playoff spot (4 team playoff). Only problem is that Im playing the #1 and #2 teams in my league. #1 team has lost 3 straight though, so he can be beat.
QB: Rivers vs DEN (Currently starting but damn he has been killing me the last few weeks) Garcia vs WAS (just picked up off waivers)
WR: Pick 2 Cotchery vs BUF (Currently Starting) M. Booker vs NE (Currently Starting) M. Furrey vs MIN
DEF: Den vs SD Jets vs BUF Ten vs HOU (off waivers) 12/6/2006 4:28:02 PM |

Here's a tough one.
My league is real deep. 18 teams total. So if you get an injured player late in the season, you are somewhat screwed because the trade deadline has been reached and it is real hard to pick up an extra wide receiver or runningback that isn't second or third string. I lost Hines Ward for two weeks. With that said, who would you roll with:
Ron Dayne - A Houston Running Back who had a good game against Oakland last week but is planned to split carries with starter Wali Lundy against Tenesssee.
Ciatrick Fason - Minnesota's primary runningback Chester Taylor may be out for Week 14 and Fason showed some life as he carried for 75 yards on 11 carries, including a 4-yd touchdown in a loss to a ridiculous Chicago defense.
or
Walter Young - an unknown wide receiver on Pittsburgh team without Hines Ward, Cedrick Wilson, or third string Willie Reid. This leaves Rothlesberger against the Browns with only Nate Washington, Santonio Holmes, and Young.
figure it out? because I can't. 12/7/2006 12:23:14 AM |

Pick Ciatrick Fason.
I know I told another person to pick the Lions D, but out of the three you gave me, Fason seems to be the best pickup. The Lions just lost DT Shaun Rogers for the year, so they are going to be soft against the run. That's my advice. 12/7/2006 8:22:21 AM |
