here's a doozy

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/04/26/climate-scientist-heated-satire-threatens-lawsuit/

and from the article:

Quote :
"The parody video, titled "Hide the Decline," had more than 500,000 viewers on YouTube and received national attention when Rush Limbaugh played it on his radio show. It features a cat with a guitar, a talking tree, and a dancing figure sporting the image of Professor Mann. It's the use of his image that Mann is complaining about, arguing that the video supports "efforts to sell various products and merchandise.""

and here is the YouTube page of the video (that they provided a link to)

I don't feel like looking... did anyone in this thread link to the story about Hannity being pulled from a Tea Party appearance two weeks ago? Ailes and co. were furious!

"General Motors is running ads on all the major networks this week claiming it has repaid its bailout from the taxpayers "in full." But the claim isn't standing up to scrutiny from lawmakers and government watchdogs who have found that the automaker was able to repay the bailout money only by dipping into a separate pot of bailout funds."

but in reality

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/29/treasury-reportedly-says-gm-properly-used-escrow-to-repay-loans/
Quote :
"General Motors didn't use another government loan to pay off the much-celebrated $4.7 billion portion of its federal debt. According to a spokesperson with the Treasury Department cited by Bloomberg, the Detroit-based carmaker properly used funds from an escrow account to do the deed. The funds were available for the automaker to use in the event that it ran across any extraordinary expenses, but since the manufacturer decided it didn't need the money, it paid it back."

what's the problem here. both quotes sound consistent to me.

Allison said Grassley was incorrect in saying the escrow account was held at the Treasury, when the funds were held by the automaker."

I typically open both CNN and FOX and notice the difference in the headlines. This time CNN won this one in my book.

Palin & Beck are here in Charlotte this weekend speaking at the NRA convention. I heard a clip of it on the local news and she said something like "even though Obama hasn't taken away your guns, you betchya he would if he thought he could get away with it, so vote republican!"

When you have nothing substantive to say, you make up shit and demonize the other side. Faux Newz and 'pubs are pretty good at that.

Big fucking deal. They try to put a little life into some of their headlines(not saying they are great headlines), so it's not the same boring shit all the time.

^^ Don't know what is so bad about that one... A pretty legitiment question if you ask me.
Quote :
"CBS correspondent Chip Reid revealed on air Friday that White House officials called reporters into the West Wing on Friday to scold them for asking too many questions about the Gulf of Mexico spill. One report identified Gibbs as the one doing the scolding."

Stop asking such hard questions!!!!! It's not fair!!!!!

Well there is that or maybe it's the fact that the US Press Core has a serious case of ADHD these days and they need to focus on some other shit for once.

Everytime a conservative brings up Katrina, I try to explain that the situations aren't analogous. They never seem to get it.

IIRC, they did a minute-by-minute accounting for what Bush did between the time he heard the US was under attack on the morning of 9/11 until he actually did shit about it. so, yeah..... fair and balanced for sure

I've been hooked lately listening to Hannity's radio show in the car on the way home from work. It helps me decompress. It makes me feel smarter knowing that there truly are crazy stupid people out there. Finally - I love his 'Day 1,Day 1,Day 1,Day 1' rants about the oil spill.

Its almost like 'The Daily Show' but its for ignorant/stupid folks.
