Judging by my car, which I cleared to run to store earlier, I got 1.5-2" more today. My street was right under a heavy band for about a half hour in Cary where I got close to an inch.

Looks like the last band is passing through so unless we have some more development to the southwest I think that's all she wrote. 4.5-5" total with a slight glaze of ice in between. Not a bad return!

Drove from Gorman to millbrook. Roads weren't bad at all...mainly just wet. If it freezes over tonight it will be really shitty

Roads fine today around downtown to RTP. Secondary roads around RTP are sketchy in places, but mostly just slushy.

Roads that haven't been plowed will probably be frozen in the morning, but otherwise should be fine.

Just FYI...learned today that if you're stuck in the snow/ice and spinning your tires, use strips of indoor/outdoor carpet. I was spinning my tires in my 4x4 truck. Dude came out with two strips of indoor/outdoor carpet, pushed them right up to the front of my rear tires and said, "Aight, go ahead." 10 seconds later I was on my way. So invest in a couple strips of indoor/outdoor carpet.

... Or just use a snow scraper to clear a couple feet of road, infornt of your tires. Doesn't do well if you've got a hard ice base layer, but you almost never will when its just starting.
