Gawd, I don't even hate Richard Sherman, but it's safe to say there is nothing more I want to see right now than J.Stew getting to the second level and just repeatedly railroading Sherman into the ground...... The entire damn game.

If we break through 137.3 yards total rushing this game, I think we win.

I'll refrain from talking anymore smack, but its going to be a good game. I unfortunantly lost in my lottery to get the chance to purchase tickets, so i will not be able to witness it in person. :/

Oh well, Go Hawks!!

Tolbert won't see the endzone. Just a bunch of running into the line and falling over.

"Panthers DT Star Lotulelei suffered a broken foot in the Wild Card win over the Cardinals and will miss the remainder of the playoffs.

It's a huge loss, as Lotulelei and fellow sophomore DT Kawann Short anchor the middle of Carolina's defense. Both players received high marks from PFF for their run defense and pass-rush push. With Lotulelei out, reserves Dwan Edwards and Colin Cole will take on bigger roles in Saturday night's Divisional Round tilt against the Seahawks. It's a boost for Marshawn Lynch. As long as it's not a Lisfranc issue, Lotulelei should be fine for a normal offseason. "

I guess it happened during the game last week, I didnt even realize he was hurt. Did he even leave the game?

if it had to happen, that's the spot for it. not saying it's not a big loss, but we won't lose just because of that

If Cole and Edwards can just eat up some lineman and keep Kuechly clean we'll be alright.

Considering how we are going to have to do a contained rush to hold RW in the pocket, this isn't the biggest loss in the world.

We'll miss him in the run game, that's for sure. Lynch will have some 5-10 yd rushes that Star would have stuffed at the line. He was never going to chase down Russ and this opens up the possibility of using some kind of "NASCAR" package of our own. Johnson, KK, Ealy, and Alexander all rushing the passer.

Good read

http://espn.go.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/11669/being-the-best-begins-well-before-kickoff-for-panthers-luke-kuechly

Quote :
"His teammates will tell you Kuechly is the best defensive player in the NFL. Hardly a week goes by when the opposing coach doesn't call him the best middle linebacker. Some will point to his exceptional speed, 4.58 seconds in the 40 at the 2012 NFL combine before being selected by Carolina with the ninth pick. Some will point to his football instincts.

The Panthers' Luke Kuechly was in charge of a defense that held the Cardinals to 78 yards -- a postseason record.
But what sets Kuechly apart is his preparation. He spends more time in the film room than some coaches. He had to be told to leave on Christmas Eve. "

i had no idea his 40 time was that fast. i know he's fast on the field, but just figured it was more of a "game speed" thing

it's lethal combination when you can diagnose the play faster than anyone, and then use your above average speed to get to the spot.

He's the run stuffer going against a team that relies heavy on the run. I think it's a pretty big loss.

hopefully Cole is pumped to play against his old team and fill that spot, i'm decently confident we can survive with him Dwan and Short at DT.

also I've been streaming Seattle sports radio for the last hour or so. One of the hosts predicted a 35-3 Seahawks win. I doubt that.

cool stat from the Simmons mailbag

Quote :
"After beating Arizona and releasing Jake Delhomme’s spirit from limbo, do you realize that the Panthers are now 1 of 4 games through their 20th anniversary revenge tour? Their first four playoff appearances: 1996, 2003, 2005, 2008. Who beat them? Arizona, Seattle, New England, Green Bay. The Panthers could exact revenge one game at a time, ending in none other than a Patriots-Panthers Super Bowl rematch from ’03. You taste that? That’s the delusional fantasies of an 8-8-1 divisional playoff team."

Because while the Panthers' offense hasn't been very successful against the Seattle defense, neither has Seattle's offense against Carolina's D. And the 12th Man isn't going to affect the Panthers defense.

^basically, yeah. the two teams have played each of the last 3 years (all in charlotte, all seattle wins) and neither team has ever scored more than 1 TD in any of those games. none of those games went over 28 total points. and the panthers led in the 2nd half of all 3 games.

of course, this game is in seattle. that's the big difference. personally, i think the panthers will cover the spread but it's going to be really tough to win.

I'm not worry about the defense really. I get that. I'm horrified about our offense . If Seattle contains the run then what? It's going to be Cam scrambling all day. It will be ugly to watch. It will be that Vikings game and that was the damn Vikings. Like our linebackers, their linebacker aren't no joke either. I still think our offensive line is horrible. We'll see. Go cats

Hey, maybe he will do something tonight that will make me forget that he is on par with Fozzy Whitaker yet ate 20 million in cap space over the last three years.

Just think, what if he actually played like a 6 million/year running back...

or even better, what if we had that 6m/year for OL, WR or DB help.

Hey Deangelo... DO SOMETHING AWESOME TONIGHT. I LIKE LIKING YOU. I DESPISE SEEING YOU FALL DOWN/RUN OUT OF BOUNDS AT THE SIGHT OF A DEFENDER.

And when you make tens of millions of dollars playing a game that is financed by the fans that watch you and depend on your success for some of the happiness in their lives... expect some hostility when you screw up, then post videos of you singing barbershop quartet songs hours after the loss without a care in the world.

The noise worries me a lot, how the offense handles that could be a big factor. Cam does that clapping shit a lot, which will be inaudible in that environment, and the no-huddle will be harder if not impossible to run. This team fucks up a lot and lacks chemistry in optimal conditions, it could get ugly in Seattle if they aren't ready for that noise .....

Quote :
"The problem for the Panthers is that they find themselves in the same boat vacated by the Cardinals last week: Their margin for error is so, so slim. The Panthers were able to get away with Jerricho Cotchery locking up and crashing in the middle of a route to lead to an interception last week. They got away with Brenton Bersin fielding punts like a Little Leaguer handling grounders. They got away with Graham Gano missing a field goal. They got away with Cam Newton fumbling in the second half and nearly throwing a pick-six in the first one. They got away with it when Larry Fitzgerald ran free into the end zone twice because Ryan Lindley was like a Little Leag— you get the idea.

They can’t do that this week."

pretty much sums things up, im ready to see this team step it up today

If Brenton Bersin field punts today and screws up... Some coach needs to be shit canned before the flight back to charlotte. I cannot fathom any reason why we would stick him out there.
