OK, I have to say that I am much more impressed with the 2142 demo than I thought I'd be. After getting to play the beta, I was really on the fence about wanting this game. I'm still disgusted that there are no "true" fighter aircraft, but I think there may just be enough of other things to do that I will still enjoy it. The stock 2142 engineer is a LOT more fun to play than the BF2 engineer (the rocket launcher is absolutely ferocious and the carbine is surprisingly accurate), and I haven't even unlocked any of the nifty new items. I can't wait to see what some of them may be.

there's a interview about air power. they nerfed it intentionally to make it more difficult for it to be the über dominating force they are/were in BF2

Yeah, I remember reading about that but I'm still disappointed.

I think the new APC's are extremely valuable since they carry EMP weapons. Shoot something like a walker with it, turn the shield on, then have an engineer or two jump out and hose your target down with rockets. Very useful. Oh, and it's hysterical to hit a loaded enemy transport with an EMP shot.

Oh hell yes, 100% agreement.

I still like the Engineer's carbine much more than the Assault's rifle. I just can't wait to see what other unlocks and options will be available in the full version.

Someone pointed out to me that the Titans have their own drop pod launchers, and that they are significantly more powerful than those carried on the APC's. I thought I'd test it out, and it turns out that their range is much wider. It's a VERY quick way to get from the Titan to a nearby silo (or simply better and faster than parachuting to the ground), but only if your commander has started to move it toward midfield. I gave it a try and spotted an enemy jeep preparing to leave silo 1 while I was in flight. I steered directly at the jeep, dropped right on top of it... and killed the guy, blew up the jeep, and walked away completely unscathed. It was hysterical.

finally fixed the internet problem!! it was the stupid negear wireless router

bf2141 is pretty cool... i admittedly like the titan mode more than conquest now

yeah, titan seems to foster more teamwork, while conquest is still the general cluster fuck is has always been....

in a competitive team setting though I like the conquest aspects.

titan mode is pretty fun in the demo, but i'm an infantry guy, so i spent most time on BF2 infantry only servers if i play at all anymore

i'm mixed on the infantry only deal, imho it just turns into nade spamming... vehicles are sometimes needed to "push" through the oppositions defenses

I just really love flying the attack choppers. It takes a while to get the hang of them but once you do, you can wreak insane amounts of havoc with a decent gunner.

Part of me really misses BF2. That part of me is the part which used to wreak havoc throughout the skies as I ruthlessly bombed every enemy vehicle moving. The other part of me which absolutely despised the infantry combat doesn't miss BF2 at all and has moved on to 2142. I feel that the infantry combat in 2142 is exceptionally fun - especially Titan defense.

I surely do miss the planes, though.

Say, did anyone else play Point of Existence? It was bar none the best mod for ANY game I have ever seen. Think I'll see what their team is up to these days...

I fired this up a few weeks ago for the first time since 2007. It was able to retrieve my account perfectly fine but for whatever reason, all the guns I had unlocked weren't there.

is there a lot of h4x0ring going on in the servers? there even good servers anymore? i'm debating reinstalling 1 of the 2 and i want the 1 with the highest #'s of people.

no haxoring i've seen, hackers get IP banned very quickly usually. haven't seen any in 1.5

downloaded and just finished installing FH 2.2 (finally europe!)

i should eventually get around to installing 2142 again

there are alway 200-400 populated servers online for bf2 1.5
