I still might go see Mexico play. I've never been to an international match before. Should be a crazy atmosphere.

I was sort of excited to know I'd be in one of the host cities and then I saw the games...

if you're going to play in an 80,000 seater, you'd think it'd be for a marquee match.

I'll probably check it out anyway.

Also, lol at the US' group and the fact that if I hadn't been to Guadeloupe multiple times, I would have no clue as to where it was.

"The U.S. men's national team will visit WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary next week for four days of training ahead of friendly matches against Argentina and Paraguay.

The practices, held Monday through Thursday, will not be open to the public, said Michael Kammarman, the team's press officer.

The roster has not been announced for the matches against Argentina on March 26 at the Meadowlands in New Jersey and against Paraguay on March 29 at LP Field in Nashville, Tenn.

Because the matches are in a FIFA international window, all European-based and Major League Soccer players are available, including World Cup stars such as Landon Donovan and Tim Howard. Kammarman said U.S. Soccer hoped to set the roster by the end of the week.

In addition to the training camp, Carolina RailHawks president Curt Johnson said he was hopeful other U.S. Soccer events would come to the facility this summer.

The U.S. men's team trained at WakeMed Soccer Park before the 2002 and 2006 World Cups but held this summer's preparation in Princeton, N.J. WakeMed Soccer Park has hosted one U.S. men's international match, against Jamaica in 2006.

Apparently if you have a season ticket to the Railhawks you can get an invite to go see the trainings.

He could potentially be a world class keeper.

Has anyone ever done the thing where they take American athletes who play other sports and put them into a soccer team?

Like... Deion Sanders as a forward.

Looked it up on the Railhawks Facebook page, they are only opening up 1 training session (Tuesday 10am) to season ticket holders. Even then you have to RSVP to attend. However, flex plan tickets count, and you can get those fairly cheap (6 games for $49).

Also just saw this, according to USMNT on twitter, you get access to one of the trainings if you are an official supporter ($55, includes scarf)

Ha I get to help cover the Tuesday training for CaryCitizen.com (I write / photo for them monthly). Going to be on the touchline with my camera and another reporter. Tweeted Stu Holden asking for a few minutes to speak with him afterward.

He has about six months to speak now if he comes

Yeah he's not coming, he's in London having surgery today. Full count dropped from 24 to 21 due to injuries, then Bradley called up Lichaj at the last minute, so 22 are in Cary right now. @ussoccer has posted a few photos of the training from this morning.

I'm actually still not 100% sure I'll get to photo. The US Soccer officials haven't said yes or no to our request yet but based on what I've been told it should be ok. Either way I'm going, it's just a matter of if I get to run around with a camera or not.

Got to run around on the field with my camera, took a few hundred shots, still editing them. Good time and great weather. The best part was at the end, the players came by and took their time signing autographs and taking photos with the fans.

Officially revealed the 2011 kit today, same style but red with navy sash and white numbers. Very similar to the DTOM kit.

While I like our all-white home stuff, I'd love to see the red be our main shirt.

Not a fan. The swoosh seems ill-placed and the US badge is fucking tacky as shit. I like the color and the stripe though.

A friend of mine had this idea for us to kind of copy the Ghana shirt with the start on it, except use US colors. Maybe a blue shirt with white star...could be a cool concept if executed well. I like the red shirt, I wish our main kit was blue or red instead of white. I agree that the swoosh stands out way too much though.

I'm used to the lame soaring ball badge now. But I'm not used to the sash and I just don't like this style of jersey.

I think both '06 jerseys are my favorites.

I own the '06 dark, and I'm not crazy about it.

I don't think we've ever had a jersey that I thought to myself, "hey that's a great jersey".

yeah, I agree with that. The white '06 didn't blow me away when it came out but it gets better over time, especially when you see all the clips of McBride

This red kit is woeful looking. Uninspired design from Nike. They ought to be ashamed of themselves for that, especially after the great looking kits they JUST put out for France.
