Tonight is like the only night I will probably be sitting at my apartment. I have a meeting tomorrow night, and then events start for the Jimmy V on Wednesday night, then a fundraiser I've planned for the young dems on Thursday night, and I'll be in Pinehurst EARLY Friday morning

^Calf cramps are horrible! Lately if I get a cramp it's in my hamstring though...that's rediculous.

i was driving to work this morning and while waiting at the stop light somebody on the radio said something that gave me that deja vu feeling....

i had a puzzled feeling then all of a sudden i gasped....then said "OMG!!!!" and started laughing...


i instantly remembered a lucrative part of my dream last night and who it was about...


it was very, quite possibly, the most random dream i've ever had....and very realistic....and pretty amusing

ok...this could very well make me cry


my ad revenue for the past 2 months is down ~$8,000 from last year....

last year we were in a drought and everybody was selling their cattle and running ads to get rid of them...this year they don't have cattle to sell because they sold out last year and they can't afford to advertise what they do have because of the rising cost of everything

this is going to hurt come December when I don't get my incentive because my revenue isn't above last years

i have decided i'm not going to let this get me down....

it's not my fault...

it's not even anything i could have prevented...

i do my job and i do it well...i just work in an industry where mother nature dictates more of how successful we are than people actually do...

it's going to suck when i don't get that extra money that i counted on at the end of the year but that just means i have to tighten up even more elsewhere...

i'm going to get this shit under control if it's the last thing i do

the people that decide our salary increases and bonuses have no idea how this office works...


they just want to see a bigger number at the end of the year


i got a great bonus last year which was the first year of this incentive...of course i was going to make more money...even if i had fewer ads because we went up on rates....but they don't even consider that

that's only enough incentive to get you just above last years numbers.. same bullshit happens in the school systems. theyre rewarded for having higher test scores than the year before..but the best schools get to a point where better isn't reasonable so they don't get the rewards

but that's the ex bosses fault as much as anything

^^exactly....i take pride in the fact that i publish one of the only (if not THE only) magazine in our industry that isn't a billboard....it has substance and articles and information that people need and want....it's not just page after page of ads...

don't get me wrong....the more ads i have, the more money i bring in, and more money i make....but people complain to all the time about other publications they get like mine that are nothing but ads and complement me on having something truly valuable to them...
