I can't find the graphics, but ABC News on its evening broadcast recently used "Melting Steele," "Steele Trap," and "Gaffes of Steele." This shows that not only were they nutting themselves over the RNC leader's troubles, but that FOX isn't the only outlet that engages in hyperbolic imagery.
Jut FYI. 7/12/2010 3:41:47 PM |

FYI: All programming on FOX News Channel is not created equal. Shepard Smith criticizes FNC, Breitbart, the NAACP, and the White House in this video:

In addition, Special Report with Bret Baier covered the Sherrod story as straight as an arrow. And O'Reilly has apologized for not doing his homework on the Sherrod story and for airing some of her comments out of context.

O'Reilly has come a long way with the introduction of Glenn Back. He no longer has the carry the mantle of the token loon of the network. Hannity is and has been the stalwart pompous, self-righteous blowhard so no change was needed there. I would like to see more Megyn Kelly though... 7/22/2010 2:28:32 AM |

To Solinari et al:
Ousted official Shirley Sherrod blamed Fox, but other outlets ran with story July 22, 2010
Quote : | "But for all the chatter -- some of it from Sherrod herself -- that she was done in by Fox News, the network didn't touch the story until her forced resignation was made public Monday evening, with the exception of brief comments by O'Reilly. After a news meeting Monday afternoon, an e-mail directive was sent to the news staff in which Fox Senior Vice President Michael Clemente said: 'Let's take our time and get the facts straight on this story. Can we get confirmation and comments from Sherrod before going on-air. Let's make sure we do this right.'
Sherrod may be the only official ever dismissed because of the fear that Fox host Glenn Beck might go after her. As Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack tried to pressure her into resigning, Sherrod says Deputy Under Secretary Cheryl Cook called her Monday to say 'do it, because you're going to be on "Glenn Beck" tonight.' And for all the focus on Fox, much of the mainstream media ran with a fragmentary story that painted an obscure 62-year-old Georgian as an unrepentant racist." |

Looks like FOX tried to cover the Sherrod story properly. And Beck didn't do the story--and has even defended Sherrod!
But one important question here is why is the Obama administration so fearful of FOX News?7/22/2010 8:43:00 AM |

I have no idea if Fox news discussed Sherrod on air because I don't watch FN at all and I certainly don't accept their time-lapsed full day of coverage as proof, but they did run the story online on the 19th and then later changed the published date to the 20th... 8/2/2010 5:33:41 PM |

^ Do you accept The Washington Post?
Quote : | "But for all the chatter -- some of it from Sherrod herself -- that she was done in by Fox News, the network didn't touch the story until her forced resignation was made public Monday evening, with the exception of brief comments by O'Reilly." |
http://tinyurl.com/2vstgau (OH NOES!!!1 I shortened the link--I must've been trying to hide something! )
O'Reilly aired about 30 seconds of the Sherrod tape at sometime after 8 p.m. on the evening of her resignation--hours after it had occurred. And he later apologized for airing the story out of context. Strangely, the guy that the White House was apparently so fearful of, Glenn Beck, didn't even mention the story.
Regardless of the Sherrod story timeline, the Obama administration had the sole power to fire her--and they hastily did so. FOX News didn't do this.
Accept what you will--nobody cares.

haha, so they didnt call for her firing until she was already fired. that tells me that they didnt know she was fired (hannity & oreilly) so they did exactly what the white house expected them to do so how are they innocent
they are devoted to political assassinations therefore they must take their share of responsibility for the rapid reaction resulting in sherrod's firing8/2/2010 7:35:02 PM |
