which TE would you rather have going forward? I currently have Zach Miller, who has been playing hurt and hasnt put up good numbers over the last two weeks (I picked him up off waivers once Jermichael went down). Here is on the WW right now, should I pick one of these guys up or hope Miller gets off the crutches and plays this week?
Tony Moeaki Todd Heap Visanthe Shiancoe Jacob Tamme Heath Miller Owen Daniels Greg Olson Jeremy Shockey 11/3/2010 8:35:46 AM |

^ I had to pick up Shiancoe, because Tamme wasn't available. I would go Tamme, Peyton will only get more confidence in him as season goes along.
For this page, would you drop Kenny Britt for Austin Collie? 11/3/2010 8:38:02 AM |
DROD900 All American 24658 Posts user info edit post |
how long is Britt out? He's their #1 guy, while Collie is going to be anywhere from the #2-5 receiving option once he gets back (possibly behind Wayne, Garcon, Gonzalez, Tamme)
Its a tough call since you cant really tell how effective Britt will be once he gets back
here is some new info on him:
Quote : | "The Titans aren't giving out a timetable, but they have said the injury is not season ending. Any guesses on when Britt could be back? If he felt a pop, he doesn't have a Grade 1. If he has a Grade 2, you're probably looking at a month or so. Grade 3, he could be out even further that that, maybe 6-8 weeks.
ROTOWORLD OPINION: Owners angling for the playoffs should hold Britt and hope this is just a Grade 2 tear. Shallow leaguers or teams with bad record may have to move on. We do not expect to have a timetable from the Titans until they come out of their Week 9 bye. " |

Sports that Moss might not want to report to a team like the Bills or Panthers. He has already played enough games this season to qualify for free agency in 2011.
Smart front offices will tread lightly here. There is no need for a club like the Bills or Panthers to bring in Moss unless they believe they can sign him to a long-term deal. Anyway, this is all speculation until we see what happens on Wednesday afternoon. The claim deadline is 4:00 p.m. EST. " |

I hate to ask, for the probably the third time, but I'm still wrestling with these trade offers: This one has not changed: I get Jeninings and Ced Benson and give up Gates Benson and Jennings both will start for me...I'd pick up someone like Heath Miller or Kellen Winslow
The second offer has changed after I rejected it: I get: Austin Collie (or DeSean Jackson, my choice), Fred Jackson, and Vernon Davis and I give Antonio Gates and Mike Williams (TB). Collie/DeSean would start for me (would prefer but Collie but I don't know his status with his injury). I'd play the match-ups game with Fred Jackson and Felix Jones at my #2 RB spot (although Freddy is interesting...20+ carries in two straight games and is averaging about 70 yards since the Lynch trade...but he can't get in the endzone). And Vernon Davis can never replace Gates' production, but he's still a very good TE. 11/3/2010 1:00:16 PM |
Prospero All American 11662 Posts user info edit post |
^look at averages and total overall points, looking at just the last 2 weeks is risky, unless they are subbing for an injured player. for instance, Gates has 120points whereas V.Davis only has 66. So while V.Davis IS a good TE and #3/#4, he's 50% the production of Gates. And Fred Jackson is 5-7 points a week, that's not great. Collie again, I think you need to know the status of before trading. I still don't think it's worth it as you're giving up ~190 points for ~182 points and I think Gates & Williams have better upsides. Collie could still be 2-3 weeks out, but would be a nice pickup if you're close to getting in the playoffs.
i'd still take Jeninings & Cedric Benson, getting 144 points for giving 119 and you have 2 playable players and only giving up 1
<rant>
i get tired of people just NOT RESPONDING to trade offers.
i made 6 trade offers this week to 6 different teams (in the same league). NO RESPONSE.
NOT EVEN A DECLINE. At least have the decency to respond to trade offers if you bother joining leagues. And I know the people are active they were using waivers this week.

^ Keller, better matchup and Miller is playing hurt.
My question from the bottom of page 50:
Guy offered me Miles Austin for L.McCoy. I countered with Austin and Ahmad Bradshaw and for McCoy and T.Jones (he already has Jamal Charles so he'd have a handcuff if one got hurt). Dude does not like to play Bradshaw and keeps him on the bench.
I need a WR as I have Randy Moss, Desean Jackson, Malcom Floyd, Steve Johnson, and J.Maclin. I am starting Johnson and Maclin this week How pathetic as I thought WR was my strength coming out of the draft. I have Turner and Foster as my other RBs along with T.Jones and McCoy.
Should I just take the Austin for McCoy deal if he rejects my counter offer?

^Wouldn't be bad considering how many targets Austin had in Kitna's first game and it seems that McCoy's value declines with Vick in, at least it did in the first part of the year.
Who should I start at QB: Vick vs. Indy or Eli vs. Seattle?
I also have Steve Smith and Bradshaw in my line-up so Eli would the 3rd Giant. So I am leaning towards Vick just for some variety. 11/3/2010 3:59:18 PM |

Am I the only one thinking now is the time to make a trade for CJ2K if ever?
Moss to the Titans should REALLY open the field for him, but not sure what kind of trade would seem fair but I would still "win" in the end...
(Yea, stacked because it is only a 6 person league this year, and trying to get another reciever and maybe cj before the deadline)
Brees Marshall Branch Driver Charles McFadden Witten Woodhead Gore MJD Felix Jones Ronnie Brown Matt Ryan Roeth (trade bait mostly, but most teams are stacked enough I might just have to cut him for something else) Aaron Hernandez (more trade fodder) Steve Johnson 11/3/2010 4:28:56 PM |

I have a guy in my league who is kicking the tires on a trade for Brady. He is willing to give up Brees if I throw in another small piece. Should I see what he will take, or is that basically a lateral move? 11/3/2010 7:54:24 PM |

So someone in my league just dropped Jahvid Best. He really hasn't made much noise since week 2, but with Stafford back, if he can get to 100% that offense could be potent. Just would have to hope Kevin Smith wouldn't eat into too many of his carries.
My question is, should I drop one of these guys: Felix Jones Michael Bush
In order to get Best? Note: This is non-PPR. Bush is in a run-first offense and even though McFadden is killing it lately, Bush is still managing to get a TD most weeks. And Felix Jones is a puzzle to me. You'd think with Kitna that Jones would be a more viable option and that they would look to establish the run, but so far they just have to air-it-out to keep up and Barber takes the goalline scores. 11/4/2010 9:59:32 AM |

^^^definitely eli or vick. vick is playing in philly while eli is away, slight lean toward vick.
^I say Blount. I think he's a stud in the making. There was also talk of Forte losing goal line carries, so go Blount.
alright i have a dilemma. i'm in a keeper league (keep up to 4 players yearly) with 14 teams. 14 roster spots. my DST is the eagles and i really need to pick up another one to rotate w/them. the patriots and cardinals are probably the best available, followed by the panthers (there are like 6 total available DST's)
we start qb rb rb w/t w/t w/t k dst
my problem is i don't know who to release. i have lots of guys that have potential for this season as well as keeper value:
Name (Fantasy Points to Date) Brees (184) L. Blount (37) R. Mendenhall (99) Calv. Johnson (101) M. Wallace (61) J.Tamme (12) M. Nugent (54) Eagles (57) M. Stafford (36) C. Portis (34) CJ Spiller (61) P. Thomas (33) L. Moore (70) M. Sims-Walker (58)
My top candidates to drop are probably spiller, thomas, portis, or tamme. spiller hasn't done shit yet but my league gives points for return yardage and i still think his keeper value is pretty high. that said, he'd have to really improve over the remainder of the year for me to keep him over wallace/blount/thomas/portis.
I just picked up Tamme, but he could be a stud filling in for clark the rest of the year. Thomas and Portis are both productive backs when healthy, but neither are atm.
I guess my other option is to just start the Eagles DST every week whether I think they're going to get torched or not lol.
Thoughts?

Patriots if just for their ST
oh gosh, that's easy Portis & Spiller, even with Portis healthy he's not going to out produce Torrain, and Spillers a lost cause at this point. Pierre Thomas could yet come back although he's still on crutches, but he's a top 10 back when fully healthy. Tamme well the verdict is still out on him, has potential, but one game is not enough.
So I'd drop in this order, Spiller, Portis, Tamme, and lastly Pierre Thomas if you must.
Although I'd probably drop M. Nugent (54) before Pierre Thomas too, just because kickers are pretty easy to come by and can vary week-to-week. Thomas has too much keeper potential

my league gives points for kick return yards, and we get big bonuses for total return yardage at 75, 100, and 125. Lately I've been picking up whoever the return man against San Diego is going to be, and that's been gaining me over 20 points per week.
