Nahh seriously though i won't be that upset if the Panthers win Sunday. I'd go for them to win the super bowl. Still not a huge fan of newton. Sure he's having a great season but I remember plenty of times when things were going downhill, instead of being a leader and rallying the team he would sit on the bench with a towel around his head. Plus we still know what he did in college.

Hard to really hate on Seattle outside of just being a bit jealous of the run they've had the last 2 years.
We're almost the exact same team, the only thing we're missing is a punishing SS and they're missing a do-everything OLB.

Four trips out west next year to LA, Seattle, Denver, and Oakland. Wonder if we'll try to get the league to put a few of those back to back and stay out there for a week instead of flying back and forth across the country. 1/13/2016 9:45:17 AM |

This is/was a good read. We know who the real MVP is this year. I remember the Panthers playing with a chip on their shoulder last year that they hadn't earned. Let's hope they come out with a different attitude this time and commit less turnovers.

I think it's to be less of a distraction to the players. If then MVP is named now he'll have an even bigger target on his back, and doing the whole awards ceremony and interviews and such takes time and focus away from the team.1/13/2016 7:06:56 PM |

I think our non existent pass rush and banged up secondary kinda fucks us especially in the 4th quarter.
We just don't have enough weapons offensively to compete against a juggernaut like the Seahawks I unless cam plays out of his mind.
I like our chances next year. Seattle is really aging and we should peak next season with all our cap space and a young roster 1/14/2016 1:58:55 PM |
BeerzNBikes All American 3736 Posts user info edit post |
^^agreed.
I kinda think of it like this: RW had a better team around him in prior years vs. this year. If we gotta go through him to win it all, then I'll take this year happily.
changing subjects: I really hope we can keep Norman somehow, he is consistently entertaining. As a lifelong RW fan, I agree with his points about Cam's nemesis: http://www.panthers.com/media-vault/videos/Norman_Competition_Brings_Out_The_Best/eaa9038f-9162-4902-91e4-96dd671186e5 1/14/2016 9:08:27 PM |

We're going to cut Charles Johnson and Jared Allen, save 19.5 million against the cap next year, we'll use that money to sign Norman and Short. Then draft a DE and probably try to sign a 1-2 year veteran for cheap. Maybe a Justin Tuck or someone along those lines, just like we did with Tillman. 1/15/2016 7:22:06 AM |

Key personnel is young
Older players like Allen, Tillman, and Edwards don't figure to be on the roster next year. Finnegan, Harper and Cotchery figure to either be gone or part time players. Anderson doesn't play. Only real 30+ impact players are Davis, Olsen, Kalil, and Ginn, and all figure to have several productive years left. 1/15/2016 11:09:38 AM |

Regardless of your key player age, that statement about an aging Seahawks team was poppycock. See below:
Key Players Under 27: Russell Wilson Doug Baldwin Thomas Rawls Earl Thomas Kam Chancellor Richard Sherman Bobby Wagner KJ Wright Tyler Lockett Frank Clark
30 or younger: Michael Bennett Cliff Avril Jimmy Graham
We have all these guys locked up for at least 2 more season. Only key loss next year will be Russel Okung (OT) and Bruce Irving (LB). Marshawn Lynch is under team control next year but might retire. If you've seen Thomas Rawls at all this year then you'll know that we feel more than comfortable with Marshawn's successor.
We're not going anywhere anytime soon. Go Hawks! 1/15/2016 12:14:47 PM |

Same goes for the Panthers and Cam.
The key is to keep the centerpieces, draft well, and add capable veterans to fill in holes. The Seahawks did that pretty well this year. 1/15/2016 1:17:02 PM |

True to a certain extent. We have all of the players I listed above locked up for at least another 2 seasons. New contracts for most of those players were signed either after the 2013 or 2014 season.
Hopefully we can find some replacements for some of these guys in the draft or FA over the next couple seasons. In Schneider and Carroll we trust!1/15/2016 2:48:02 PM |

I was looking back at last game... THE GOOD -- Jimmy Graham was practically SEAs only receiver, with 140yds outside of a Lockette had 40yd TD. Both are gone. No other SEA receiver had more than 15 yards. -- Same goes for Olsen, who had 131+TD. No Panthers receiver had more than 25, BUT this was before Cam built rapport with Funch, Cotch, and Ginn. -- Luke was barely out of concussion protocol in week6, he's beastly now. Lynch was beastly then, he's not 100% now regardless of the media spin. -- Home field is an undeniably huge factor for both of these teams, in particular...
THE BAD -- BobbyW was scratched for SEA defense, he's back and he's good. Panthers CB situation is now an unknown. -- Cam threw 2 INTs, SEA had zero turnovers. This does represent his style vs. RWs. -- RW has a nice rhythm going with Thug Baldwin. -- Olsen TD was on rare broken coverage, which we can't expect to happen again...
BOTTOMLINE I expect low scoring, frustratingly stressful game... but in the end, the hawk gets bitten:
