your body acquires fat and loses fat in a genetically determined manner. You're not going to be able to spot reduce fat from your body by targeting a specific area with your workouts. Just keep losing weight and it will eventually come off of your upper body too. 10/9/2008 5:11:55 PM |

^I have a personal trainer, he makes me do it each cycle, but on my own I never did any lower body lifting. I was trying to become smaller, but I see the importance of it now 10/9/2008 5:15:30 PM |

^^true. heavy leg lifts tell the body to produce more growth hormone/IGF-1 and testosterone, which helps with the overall weight loss effort.

can you stand being on an elliptical? If you can keep a constant weight on the pedal, I would think that should be rather low impact.
I haven't sprained my ankle since middle school playing soccer, so I don't know what I would do as far as trying to train legs. I think all you'd be able to use is isolation machines if squatting is out of the question. 10/9/2008 5:27:25 PM |

this doesn't appear to be true..... my body seems to displace fat when it builds muscle.... i have no fat on my legs arms back etc. and very litte fat in my torso..10/9/2008 5:55:57 PM |

What are you argueing? You are at a very low bf%.
Body fat is largely determined by genetic predispositions (hormonal, and how your body responds to food types, etc). If you are able to drop estrogen counts due to lifestlye/diet/supplementation/pharmaceutical changes you could see some reduction in overall fat storage in you legs, arms, and lower torso, for ex.
But, you can't alter your workouts to spot reduce. You could theoretically reduce bodyfat, and increase hypertrophy in an area--this would create the illusion of that (but, this would be much more possible for newbies).

depending on how tomorrow goes i should be able to start running on it again
^i stopped workin out for about a month and gained about 20 pounds back in march, after feelin and performign like shit at a tournament i lost that shit in about 7 weeks
its a real good feelin to be disgusted at yourself when you gain weight back u lost

i'd say a minute per exercise, 1.5 min max between the sets, 3-4 min rest for water between exercises
under 2hrs...I did everything but the rear raises right after each other, had to switch to abs for 2 exercises before finishing with rear raises....shoulders felt like they were going to fall off 10/11/2008 7:35:57 AM |

I do chest and back together to i can go... Push-pull push-pull and not take such long breaks in between because pull muscles are resting while i'm pushing and vice-versa
but good work man !
(i'm also aware those are all arm lifts)

^ A reasonably well trained individual who is fully fed can run about 20 miles at a moderate pace without running extremely low on glycogen. This can vary of course, but serves as a good general average. 10/11/2008 7:07:19 PM |
