It's goddamn ridiculous that the NCAA can't give an answer to whether or not Yurt (and many other players across the country) is cleared prior to start of practices. 10/11/2016 9:31:27 AM |

I imagine an investigation revolving around international entities and money makes for a pretty hard investigation to pull any useful data, esp when you're not a legal body.
I imagine they won't be able to prove much either way based on lack of evidence and they'll just slap him with 5-10 games just to make themselves feel better about the situation. 10/11/2016 10:45:55 AM |

If Lacey had stayed we'd already have flying cars and a moon base.
If Lacey had stayed GRRM would have finished ASOIAF before GoT passed the books.
If Lacey had stayed Bill Cowher would have come back to lead the football team to multiple Nattys. 10/12/2016 10:37:51 AM |

Yeah it's looking like Alabama, they have another highly ranked PG committing the same day as Sexton that is a huge Bama lean, so sounds like it's setting up for a huge day for them with 2 premiere players committing.
O'Bannon is the next big recruit for us I think that is committing in the next month that we have a shot at. 10/28/2016 8:36:23 AM |

Yeah O'Bannon is announcing soon, I thought...but I'm not sure if that's anything official or just speculation that he's gonna announce sooner rather than later. sounds like O'Bannon's dad probably prefers State since he has connections with Gottfried. and that would seem to bode well for us. 10/28/2016 10:21:18 AM |

Kiir wanted immediate PT = wasn't happening here. We got Allen, I'm fine with missing on Claxton.
Will be interesting to see what holes Gott has to fill at the end of the season. We're still in the top 5 for Bowen and O'Bannon, but I don't think we're leading for either. 11/15/2016 1:14:43 PM |

True, thought he was a 2/3, not a 4.
With that in mind, given our current scholarship situation with bigs right now for next year looks like: Abu, Yurtseven, Freeman, Kapita, and Hicks...neither were "must-gets" for us.
I understand 2 of those 5 will likely be gone, but not a guarantee. Think we can be picky when taking bigs for next year at this point, and neither of Kirr or Claxton seemed like can't-miss prospects. 11/15/2016 3:01:17 PM |
dmspack oh we back 25545 Posts user info edit post |
getting Hicks and Kapita was very big for next year. even assuming Abu and Yurt7 are gone, we will still have 3 big men with experience...and we will probably still look to add at least one more but you're right. we can somewhat afford to be picky. 11/15/2016 3:25:44 PM |

Refresh me. Freeman had surgery before last season when he had the rod put in his leg, right? And he played last season, although it was obvious that he wasn't at full strength. Isn't he going to redshirt this season to heal some more? Or did he have another surgery? 11/15/2016 4:09:25 PM |

Leg never fully healed before he played, led to another small injury...decided to redshirt this year and do a full body heal and strength training.11/15/2016 6:28:48 PM |
