tuesday night will be a good hockey night. if the canes push the game to OT, then they will have the east. anything less and it will depend on the sens.

i fucking hate OT losses. that shit was off a change too.

I guess Chris Mason is pissed because everyone said Nashville was done when Vokoun went down. He just scored a goal from 89 feet out 10 minutes into the third period.

I didn't see the goal, but did you mean 189 feet? 89 feet would mean he was over the centerline, and if he touched the puck on the opposite side of center they'd immediately whistle the puck dead.

I didn't see it either at first, but now I understand what happened. Mason was the last to touch the puck, and then the Coyotes scored on their own goal from 89 feet out on a delayed penalty.

cole was in the booth w/ trip/jon earlier this week.....doesnt seems he will be playoff ready....kinda sucks....id think once youre ready to do cardio it would still be 2-3 weeks to get into playoff shape. such a shame -- say nothing of if the fracture is 100 percent healed.

isn't it odd a guy named steviewonder is the least superstitious of us all. It all depends how tightly you follow the superstition, it could be only players that can't touch it, or people who may come in contact with the players can't touch it as well or the most extreme, the fans of the team can't touch it. Montreal plays New Jersey.

If Tampa Bay loses in regulation, we play Tampa. If they lose in overtime, and Montreal wins or loses in overtime, we play Tampa. If they win, and Montreal loses (in regulation or overtime), we play Montreal.

Alright, here is the shake down:
MTL loses to NJ in MTL
TB beats WAS at TB
then MTL is 8 and TB is 7
CAR win/otl wins East no matter what OTT does
I want that 1v8 matchup against MTL

^Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

If the Canes lose tonight in OT and Ottawa wins, both teams will have the exact same record of 52-21-9. That knocks out the first two tiebreakers. Third tiebreaker is the greater number of points earned in games b/w the clubs - each team earned 4 points (2 wins, 2 losses, all in regulation). On to the fourth tiebreaker, greater differential between goals for/goals against. As of now, the Canes are at 38 (294-256) and Ottawa is at 99 (309-210), therefore Ottawa would win.

Therefore, we need to hope for 1. Canes win, OR 2. Canes lose in either regulation or OT and Ottawa loses. An overtime loss alone isn't enough to seal it, unfortunately.
