I paid $60, which will probably be MSRP when it hits here. So yes, I'd say it was worth it. And it's white, which is just totally awesome!!!!^^shame, yes. It's all I've done with my PS3 so far. You mean this machine can do other things, too?
12/12/2007 4:27:49 PM
Pfft. You try affording a PS3 and anything other than midnight bowling. They might as well just take your wallet when they take your shoes.
12/12/2007 4:29:50 PM
SteinYou are aware that a 40gig ps3 is parity with a 360 + hd dvd player, right?
12/12/2007 4:38:38 PM
...or a 360 with Wifi, for that matter.
12/12/2007 4:39:17 PM
shhhWe don't really want to mention the ps3 wifi in any argument. In fact lets pretend it doesnt exist.
12/12/2007 4:41:05 PM
Dual Shock 3 + GT5: Prologue for $106.80 + s/h.http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-bp-49-en-70-2bns.htmlMost of the videos and the Japanese demo had a lot of English text in the menus, so it seems pretty import friendly.
12/12/2007 4:41:43 PM
I definitely know it exists....one of my last couple of posts was actually lauding that about Sony's inclusion of wifi. Because, yes, although the 360 adapter is damn fast and nice, it was still a hundred bones I had to pay where for PS3 it was right out of the box. I can appreciate that, and the lack of needing batteries on controllers. Love that as well.
12/12/2007 5:36:30 PM
you do know that xbox360 has rechargeable batteries. Or you can buy rechargeable energizer AA batteries. The reason that is better than the PS3 concept of not needing batteries is because battery cells don't last forever. Eventually instead of swapping out the PS3 battery you'll be buying a new controller because it doesnt hold a charge. Also, $100 is not bad at all for a wireless card with a/b/g support.[Edited on December 12, 2007 at 5:46 PM. you do realize, demo or not, prologue is going to be as much in the States.
12/12/2007 11:22:05 PM
Exactly how much content is in it to justify a cost like that? Serious question though - anyone know? Like how many tracks, levels, stuff like that.
12/12/2007 11:40:13 PM
i heard 40 cars and 4 or 5 tracks
12/13/2007 12:00:20 AM

Is there a set release date for the Warhawk expansion? I cant find any good info on it, even Warhawk.com fails to mention it anywhere....

[quoteIf you know how to use a screwdriver, you can change the battery out on a PS3 controller.[/quote]have you looked at a PS3 battery?
12/13/2007 12:03:32 PM
^^Dec. 20th^yes
12/13/2007 12:57:08 PM
WTF? You paid $100 for a wireless card?
12/13/2007 1:14:13 PM
WTF? you paid $600/$400 for a console! OMG
12/13/2007 1:22:28 PM
I really think the price arguement is getting old.
12/13/2007 1:40:31 PM
i agree. I just find it funny that someone who paid $600 for a console is saying $100 is a lot of money.
12/13/2007 1:42:01 PM
^umm... you do realize that the $100 networking card doesn't do anything by itself, don't you?
12/13/2007 2:05:25 PM
Jeez yall are so freakin lame arguing over who has the best console or whatever. The epitome of loserness. I like to get updates and impressions about games and stuff from this thread, but most of the time there is just this useless banter about "ooO my video game machine is better than yours urrhhh." So fucking lame. Get a god damn life. Please.. Jesus....
12/13/2007 2:23:27 PM
^I have both and enjoy both. One is for playing games the other is for watching movies, whats your point?^^so you haven't opened up a PS3 controller is what you are trying to say. you're too slow to get to the conclusion so i'll speed the process along with a clue...the PS3 controller battery is NOT a AA battery. go![Edited on December 13, 2007 at 2:51 PM. i wonder if capcom will ever port dead rising over to the PS3, now that capcom has changed their business plan to whoring out to pretty much anyone
12/13/2007 3:19:09 PM
if they do they better add co-op. I think Capcom would do FAR BETTER to port this than worry about freakin Lost Planet. I love Dead Rising but if they ever put co-op in it, it would be stratospheric good. I have it and think it's one of the best games of this generation, and also one of more under appreciated ones. Someone should tell me though how Lost Planet warrants a port where Dead Rising doesn't

12/13/2007 4:07:06 PM
wait, so you seriously got a wireless card for $100?
12/13/2007 4:08:18 PM
it was a joke. Who'd pay $100 for a wireless card? I mean seriously. I'd much rather pay $600 for a console with no games.
12/13/2007 4:09:40 PM
forgot the HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA $100!?!?!??! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA i make that in an hour! HAHAHAHA...breath
12/13/2007 4:10:05 PM
$600 is too much for a George Foreman grill look-alike, but that didn't stop most of you guys.

umm so is anyone else gonna play ut3 with me?
12/13/2007 4:12:23 PM

i seem to remember reading somewhere that Sony will replace any dead controllers for free
12/13/2007 5:25:11 PM
dont mind me[Edited on December 13, 2007 at 5:46 PM. Reason : wrong thread]
12/13/2007 5:46:04 PM
^^you read correctly but shortly after they posted instructions on how to replace the battery yourself. The argument was/is that if thats true why would anyone want to replace the battery on their old busted controller when they can get a brand new sixaxis for free. Maybe because sony is silently dropping that policy.
12/13/2007 5:56:26 PM
wow there are a lot of new posts since i last checked. jumping back 2 pages... GT5rologue screenshots don't look that touched up to me... I've got the demo running in 1080p over here (Suzuka circuit only) and that's about what it looks like.Golovko, if you're getting an external harddrive to share between mac and ps3 (like me), you might be wondering how make it so the drive has BOTH a bootable HFS+ partition and FAT32 partition. You can't do it in the discutil GUI, you gotta set it up in terminal. Check out this thread and follow the advice down a bit by silentaccord. It's complicated 'cause a lot of the "solutions" mentioned earlier in the thread either wouldn't automatically mount or couldn't be recognized by PS3 despite having legitimate FAT32 partitions.http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030613121738812Or you could just install OSX on your iPod and boot from that when you need it.
