MJD would be a decent play if he was healthy but its looking like Fred Taylor is gonna get most of Jacksonville's carries this week

Brandon Stokley is available in my league.....would he be a better flex option than say Jesse Chatman or Cedric Benson or even Kenny Watson?

^no.

Chatman will have a productive game in London this weekend, especially if you happen to be in a PPR league.

^Graham has been a good fantasy option and his job is on the line now that Bennett is there. Go with him.

Hey Panthro I have to start 3 of these or pick up a Stokley, Jason Wright, etc.

Benson vs DET
Watson vs PIT
Jamal Lewis @ STL
Chatman vs NYG
Travis Henry vs GB

What do you recommend?

[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 2:27 PM. Reason : Damn 3 with the flex]

[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 2:38 PM. Reason : Travis Henry just got realeased in my league]

pick 2:

Portis VS NE, Gore VS NO, Chatman VS NYG, and Maroney VS WSH

no points per reception, and most points are via TD's.

Gore's most likely a starter, but I can't decide the other one.

^i'd go Lewis (if healthy) and Chatman...Benson's got a pretty good match up, but he's been crap this year.

Haha I have 4 Bears starting right now: Griese, Benson, Muhsin, Olsen.

That combined with my injuries plus my ^^ situation =

Haha I have even contemplated picking Bulger back up and starting him.

[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 3:30 PM. Reason : my team is so bad started 3-0 and now 4-3]

Kevin Jones vs Chicago or Deshaun Foster vs Indy?

Also, play which one of Colston, Berrian or Calvin Johnson?

I picked him up so fast, it wasn't even funny, esp. in my only PPR league where I was dying for RBs. Thank you Ronnie Brown for getting hurt.

I'm taking your word for it too, Panthro.

rivers or brees

note that every time i start rivers he plays like ass, and he had his best game of the year when i benched him. also, i have bush, so if i start brees i'm likely to get points for most saints td's vs the niners.

another thought i had was to pick up the texans D and start rivers. he seems to be good for a pick 6 whenever i play him

this is shaping up to be a good week for Rivers.

No joke, I look for Rivers to get about 200-250 and 2-3 scores.

The Texans won't have an answer for Gates or for the size of Chambers and Jackson, and I think the Chargers realize that they are only go as far as Rivers takes them, so it's imperative that they get him rolling in a non-divisional game this weekend.

Start Rivers and enjoy the success. This will likely be a game where they try to "give back" to the fans, who are battling the wildfires out there, so they are going to put on a show.

i don't know about that. they didn't start winning until they gave LT more carries. they were losing and turner was getting criticized for not utilizing LT. the chambers pickup was definitely to make teams respect the threat of the pass, but it was ultimately a move intended to give LT more room to run. also, it's nice to think that the chargers are going to give back to the fans dealing w/the wildfires, but the fact is that they were dealing with them too. they've been all over the place trying to practice and focus on football this week, and didn't even know where they'd be playing until about a day ago.

i have to think about it more before i make the call, but right now i'm still leanin towards brees. he's had back to back solid weeks and is going up against the 49ers. i'm just not expecting the texans to keep it close enough to warrant the chargers throwing the ball after the first half. another 3+ TD-fest for LT wouldn't surprise me at all.

also, chris chambers is 5'11"

you've given your thoughts on rivers, what about your thoughts on brees? and if were to just ask which qb had the best chance at throwing for 2 scores, would you still say rivers? i think my answer to that would be brees as well.

i definitely will take your advice into consideration, but as of yet i'm not sure i'm convinced rivers is the best play. but i'd definitely love to start the guy and see him shine, i just feel like as soon as they get the lead they'll just pound it with LT.

great counter point, and you may very well be right. But the Texans defense has been terrible lately, and I think that Rivers is going to exploit their quick, young, aggressive defense with some deep playactions to Gates, Jackson, and Chambers. This season, the Texans are giving up 345 yards per game on defense, with about 220 in the air. Last week, Kerry Collins, with no real receiving weapons to speak of, lit them up for 280 yards. Granted, he had no scores, but he also doesnt have the above mentioned receiving threats.

As for Brees, I don't think he will have a bad game, but I'm not sold that he will have a great one either. San Fran has some pretty decent corners, and the starting center, Jeff Faine for NO is going to miss the game so he won't have the good protection up the middle that he is used to. If Brees is to have a big game, I don't think it will be because of Colston or Henderson. It will likely be because of Bush, or Johnson (who is making his return to San Fran and makes a sneaky TE fill-in by the way!). Expect more dink and dunks from Brees this week, with the likelyhood that one or two could be for scores.

With that said, I still like Rivers, but neither will hurt your team this week.

Haha guy I am playing has Harrison still starting...hopefully he won't find out.

So looks like Lewis isn't going to play against an awful STL defense.

Pick 2 from this bunch for me please:

Cedric Benson vs DET
Jamal Lewis at STL
Chatman vs NYG
Kenny Watson vs PIT
Jason Wright at STL

It's a custom league we have....10 yards rushing/receiving=1 point. TD = 6 points....no point for a reception

My bench is 4 Bye players and 3 starters who are injured. My team is terrible.

Ok, if I start Steven Jackson I have to take him off of my IR list. So it's actually important I take him off at the right time.
So is it worth taking him off of IR to start over Clinton Portis today?

And does Calvin Johnson/Andre Davis get the start over Donte Stallworth?

I'm starting Anderson over Peyton today. I know it goes against the ASYS rule, especially with Manning, but I have several reasons for it.

First, DA has a great matchup against a weak STL defense, and the Carolina defense has been playing very well lately.

Secondly, I think Anderson is the real deal, and I need to get comfortable with the idea that if he has the right matchup, I should start him. In my fantasy playoffs he has two of the best matchups for the year, and I may need to use him.

Thirdly, I have a hard time pulling against the Panthers, and if I pull for Manning, I'm pulling against my team. I don't like being a man divided.

Lastly, I'm 7-0 and I really don't care. I have 2 games on everyone (the only 1 loss team is to me, so it's really two games), and at this point I just weant to have some fun.

Injuries and byes have left me with this shit for a situation...

start 2 rbs...

Addai (obviously), Michael Bennett, Selvin Young, Najeh "dookie" Davenport, Leon Washington.
I'm leaning towards Young and hope that Henry splits time or doesn't play.

If he is going to play, it's agoing to be his show today.

Portis will be phased out in about 1-2 quarters and the Skins will be forced to throw to catch up.

Panthro (or anyone else) what do you think about this trade: Steven Jackson for Antonio Gates

I REALLY need a running back (maroney and marion barber are my starters) and I've got Heath Miller to replace Gates. But I just don't know how good Jackson's gonna be.

What do you guys think??
