I can say with certainty that the following is true:

1) If Obama had to snort a line of diamond-encrusted cocaine from DC to Mumbai, while stopping to down a fifth of Johnny Walker Blue Label at every mile, it'd still be 1/100th the cost of any real federal fiscal responsibilities.

2) Security expenditures and the like are determined by non-political, hired positions. Thus, whatever the dollar figure is-- I'm willing to accept it as reasonable.

If it breaks the all time low then we have real problems. However, notice just how soon after the QE announcement everyone and their brother started having problems with it, with the MSM being complicit in the info-noise. This is a pattern that has been going on since the crisis, the deflationists talk up deflation, the market buys into it to set the state for fiscal/monetary stimulus. Stimulus happens, inflationistas start complaining about inflation, stimulus is pulled. Rinse and repeat.

I don't actually expect we'll breach the all time lows on QE2, partially because other countries will race to devalue just as quickly as we can. Something somewhere else in the system (likely in China, but possibly in Europe) will crack before the dollar does.
