that's tough- bell should be getting limited, if any carries, so Thomas is a go in there- and then it comes down to if you think williams will return with a bang or a fizzle- I'd probably go with benson (although alot of people will tell you that grant will run all over da bears, but I don't believe it)
Quote : | "Which D do I play?
Dallas vs San Diego Cincinnati @ Minnesota" |
that's tough- I want to say Dallas, simply because I'm a fan boy and I need Phil to have a crappy game today, but that game could go either way. At minnesota, I think Cinci will score points, and thus Favre will have to air it out. Also, AP got shut down to just 19 yds last week, so he is going to be looking for a big game. Everyone is saying that Favre is hitting his "worn out" point this season, so if you listen to them, he should have some picks... I don't believe it though. I personally, if it were my team, go with Cincinnati, but 2 minutes of talking to me, I could easily change my mind
I'll be pulling for Dallas though!
oh, and I want some more insight on my QB quandary
Kyle Orton (@Ind)
Matt Ryan (NO) Eli Manning (Phi) Vince Young (StL)
they are all a little banged up, and I don't think Ryan is gonna play (or if I want to play him even if he does). Young is my first choice right now...
haha so Ryan is out, and of course, they have them listed in this order: Young, Manning, Orton on ESPN's fantasy football site... I just hope that they are right. I really don't like Eli against Philly (he always sucks it up) and Orton is so wishy washy, plus I don't like him against Indy

Farve hands down
Arizona killed SF last time they played them and their defense has stepped up in the last few weeks
I would prob go Burleson because Houston will put up some points against SEA and Hasselbeck will have to throw
I am having the hardest time deciding on my RBs this week
Peterson vs CIN (#1 rush defense in yards per game allowed) Thomas Jones vs TB MJD vs MIA J. Charles vs BUF (worst rush defense in the league)

It's really hard to sit Peterson because you're gonna be pissed if you get burned, but I think MJD and Thomas Jones are going to have the best weeks points wise. 12/13/2009 12:40:01 PM |

^Thanks for the help Peterson and MJD. They have way too much potenial to go off to bench them. If you don't like that I'll rank um for you:
Peterson MJD TJ Charles
Anyway you play it though you should have a good week. 12/13/2009 12:42:14 PM |

Eli is playing the eagles- a team that has worked him the last 4 times they have met
I wouldn't do it unless you needed to
Brady is always "hurt" - while he has a little more going on, I still think he'll have 200+ and 2+ td's 12/13/2009 12:46:42 PM |

^^^ That's incorrect.
After the lateral, it's treated as a "fumble", and the 2nd WR only get's points if they score after the pitch.
(or, at least that's the way it's always been for me in all of my leagues, and I play roughly 5 per year.)

Quote : | " IF A QUARTERBACK PASSES THE BALL, THE RECEIVER CATCHES IT AND THEN LATERALS TO ANOTHER PLAYER WHO SCORES, HOW IS THE PLAY SCORED?
Examples of this are the Culpepper-to-Moss-to-Williams hook-and-ladder and the Saints 3-lateral play to end a game against the Jaguars late in the season. In all cases, if a quarterback passes the ball and the receiver laterals it, the quarterback gets credit for the completed pass and the total yardage as passing yardage until the play is stopped. The player receiving the pass from the quarterback receives credit for a reception and all yardage from the line of scrimmage to where the lateral occurred. Any player receiving a lateral receives credit for receiving yards from the point where the lateral occurred until their possession stops through another lateral, being tackled or fumbling. The player receiving the lateral does not receive credit for a reception. (Yes, it is possible that a player could gain receiving yards with no reception. It's happened where the box score shows 0 receptions for 17 yards.) If the result of a passing play involving laterals is a touchdown, the quarterback receives credit for a TD pass for the entire length of the play, regardless of the length of the actual pass or the number of times a lateral is executed on the play. The rules are the same regarding a lateral on a running play. The first player rushing the ball receives credit for the rush. The player receiving the lateral receives credit for the rushing yards, but not the carry." |

You just wrote that.
cuz it never happens that way.
You tellin' me that if Cal/Stanford had been an NFL Game, they would have given all of those players points?
It may be what your write up says, but i'm telling you, it doesnt happen that way.
In another example, does your league give an offensive player points if he recovers a fumble (for his own team) and runs it 10 yards? 12/13/2009 11:13:35 PM |

My gf's team who squeaked into the playoffs by winning her last 4 was playing a team who had Ryan in as their qb (they had campbell on the bench and didn't get them switched in time). Our league is QB heavy (1 pt/10 yards, 6 pts a td) so that was a major blow for the team. She still got blown out by 40 thanks to Brandon Marshall, Jamaal Charles and Chris Johnson. Best part is I get to play that team next week. Sigh. 12/14/2009 10:05:01 PM |

I'm just happy I won our regular season outright at 11-3. I'd rather win that than the playoffs (even though thatd be nice too). Because, as you all know, single games can get pretty wacky. An example: guy who is in dead last place in our league destroyed the #2 guy this week. He scored the most points anyone has scored in a game in our league this year putting up 165 pts. (I had the previous high at 147) while the #2 team only put up 89.
Plus it looks like the #8 seed I'll be playing first round is the team that handed me 2 of my 3 losses even though he is like 5-9 or something, so I'm not looking forward to that

Can I get some opinions on some waiver wire pickups this week:
1. The RB situation in Houston (Moat/Brown/Foster) 2. The RB situation in Cleveland (Harrison/Jennings) 3. Is Burleson officially out with a high ankle sprain? 4. The RB situation in Philly (McCoy/ Weaver/Buckley) 5. Is Bowe going to be back in the starting lineup after his suspension?
Thanks for the input
btw Maclin is out for 3 weeks 12/15/2009 4:48:16 PM |

too many questions^^ but.. i wouldn't trust any eagle's back. they share a lot of carries; same thing with houston's running back situation.
everywhere I've read they've said that Jennings in Cleveland is a good pickup, so I'm considering him too.
On that note, what about this waiver wire decision: Houston Texans vs. Rams Chris Jennings vs. Chiefs (and then the Raiders) 12/15/2009 5:16:17 PM |

Arizona against Detroit. How could that not be your obvious pick? The offense had 7 turnovers this week and they still didn't get totally destroyed by San Francisco. That's a very good defense, especially against bad teams. All of the SF points came off turnovers. You have to figure that the same thing won't happen against Detroit. Combine that with the fact that Culpepper is playing unless Stafford shows up, and if he does, he's a rookie who is hurt. Great combination for interceptions.
Jackson is hurt pretty bad. The team said that because of his herniated disc, he probably won't practice at all for the rest of the year. He won't play in games all the way through unless they are close, which is why they took him out at the end last week.
How you could even think of playing him over Ricky Williams is crazy to me. Williams is on ateam that is fighting for the playoffs, so you know there's no way they will ease up at all, and he's fresher than most backs because he was splitting time with Ronnie Brown most of the year. Now he gets all the carries, and even some of the Wildcat stuff.
I understand Tennessee isn't bad against the run, but Jackson has only found paydirt 4 times this year, and only then when he was healthier. Last week in his weakened condition, he only managed 47 yards. Williams has 5 TDs in his last four games, and every game this year where he's had over 20 carries, he's ended up with 100 yards+.
Just my thought on the matter. 12/16/2009 9:37:37 AM |
