^^Yea definitely was not planning on it. Walked up to Franklin Street and randomly had a little cash on me so I said fuck it, lets have a beer or three. Helps that I ride the bus to and from work, so no driving for me. And I don't have to operate one for work, so my boss doesn't really care.

I will say that living in (or on the edge of) the Triangle with multiple breweries and beer shops within walking distance has greatly expanded my beer drinking in quality, but probably decreased the quantity. I usually have one a night with dinner, but its something different every day or week. Long gone are the days of picking up a 24 pack of Bud Light and working on that for a couple of weeks. Now beer shopping has become a tasting adventure and not just a choice between Bud Light, Miller Lite or Coors Lite. I like to research the shit and read the damn labels to find the back story.

It helps that the good beer is usually considerably stronger than the cheap beer. I would gather that in most instances you're still paying for the same amount of alcohol.

I wouldn't even get a buzz from 3 Miller Lites with lunch. 3 Fat Tires would be another story though.
