another well-known QB not knowing the rules of football (besides mcnabb)
Quote : | "McCoy said he thought the clock would stop on a ball thrown out of bounds as soon as it passed the first-down marker. Not the case. The clock runs until the ball hits something." |
how is it that so many of them don't know very well-known rules, or are they just trying to save face by playing dumb12/9/2009 10:07:24 AM |

^^Trying to save face. Had he arced the ball a bit higher we'd all have screen shots of him with both his hands on his head (for some reason this is the de facto sports fail pose). You would have never seen him running over to a ref to explain his ball past the 1st down marker theory - just him realizing that he blew the game by doing something 100% idiotic.
But seriously. Where do you get the idea that the clock stops when the ball crosses the 1st down line? Was that really the excuse given? It would be easier to convince yourself that the clock stops when the ball breaks the out of bounds plane. 12/9/2009 11:55:04 AM |

This is why I've always said that basketball players should throw the ball into the air or the crowd at the end of the game
When you're leading by 1-2 and have the ball with <5 seconds left, just chuck it straight up before they foul you and let the clock expire 12/9/2009 12:08:14 PM |
