Models have us in the mid 50's in the morning 3/3 and 20 degrees at 7pm. DAMN! I hope it is a nice surprise, and hopefully the cold will beat the precip...more snow

20 degrees at 7pm, if its still raining it will change to snow. It would be too wet to accumulate though, ie be more worried about black ice in the AM though.

I dont see this being much of an issue here, for one unless the precip starts backbuilding there isnt much behind the initial rain line at the moment. Also it was pretty warm yesterday so ground temps should help minimize accumulation of what does fall.

I still dont see anything on radar to indicate once this rains move out that there is any precip behind it to fall as frozen stuff for several hours at least. Worst case is rain already falling on roads freezes as temp drops. Maybe it will start back building but I havent seen it yet.

if the weather in Houston is any precursor to the weather in Raleigh then you guys need to get ready for a plummet in temps. Yesterday I was having my morning coffee on the patio in board shorts and flip flops with no shirt on. This morning when i left for work it was 26 degrees outside. We are under a winter weather advisory for tonight. this shit is for the birds...come on spring!!
