Damn iTunes. I don't understand why Apple has to have it so restrictive. I formatted my computer yesterday and I reinstalled iTunes today and synced up my iPhone for the first time. It said it found the apps on my phone that weren't on my computer and asked if I wanted to back them up. Yeah, sure whatever. So it copies them to my computer and THEN whines about how they aren't valid (they were all legally purchased on the App Store, btw) because my computer wasn't authorized or whatever. So I authorized my computer but the apps were gone. Not on my phone, not in iTunes. So I figured I'd just redownload them which annoyed me, but whatever. The thing is when I reinstalled the apps all my stats were gone. So there goes ~$16 millon dollars I had in Hold 'em.

What purpose does it serve to delete apps and music I paid for just because I decided to sync up to a "new" computer? I just don't understand how iTunes can be so shitty but people keep using it.

Oh, I'm sure it was probably user error or there was some option I could have selected or some magical button combination I could hold down in order to make it work the way it should, but for a company that is known for having the best UI and products that are so easy to use that even morons can work them I have just always been amazed and how unintuitive, clunky and just plain shitty itunes has always been. And you'd have to be the biggest Apple fanboy/apologist in the world to disagree.

I'm still having trouble with my txt message notification sound. I have to keep restarting my phone every now and then because the notification sound becomes only a vibrate notification. This usually happens if i toggle between sound to silent back to sound.

Anyone else having this issue? I'm hoping this will be something addressed in 2.1 because its freaking annoying.

Went to the Durham Apple store and picked up an Ipod 16GB touch. Store in Raleigh doesn't have them in yet.

Got to my car, couldn't wait to open it so i opened it up. Thing is crazy thin. Discovered some white dust about 2 pixels big under the glass. Took it back to the Apple store. Waited while the guy talked to the manager and they told me i'd have to pay the 29.99$ restocking fee to get a new one because the dust was "in spec" or something, and didn't hinder the operation of the iPod.

I insisted on talking to the manager and explained to him i wasn't paying an additiontal 29.99$ to get an ipod without dust under the glass so he finally gave in and gave me a new one, and was like "this is a one time thing, if there's anything else you don't like about it, then you'll have to pay the restocking fee to get a new one". He was all emo-pissy about it. heh.

About to start it up though. The speaker is invisible!

I got a 16gb white one from the Crossroads AT&T store, they had all 3 in stock. In fact, the guy before me bought 4 16GB's, one for everyone in the family.

Ive been using it a lot today, and really like it so far, still need to explore these apps...

Yes and no. Depends what you want to use it for. I use it for backing up my contacts, bookmarks, settings etc, for my iPhone, iMac, and macbook pro. I also use all the mobile gallery stuff for photos/videos. I don't really use it much for storage unless I don't have a jump drive and I want to transfer files from one computer to another in two different locations.

Also the best thing about mobileme is Back to My Mac

haven't checked that yet.. main thing i noticed was in my contacts it didn't have a 5 second pause before i could do anything and the search is damn near instant now. before it was so slow i couldn't tell if the phone had locked up or not and it was very very frustrating.

also, for some reason when replying on tww it used to be super super slow.. like i'd type fast and it'd take it 30 seconds or more to catch up and then sometimes crash.. now it pretty much keeps up with me and doesn't crash

Is there a way to do lanscape mode for mail or aim? It seems like it does it for some things but not others. It's much easier to type on the keyboard in landscape mode, and you'd think they would allow for this with mail or aim.

^i think you're missing the point. It's faster in landscape mode because you're able to use two thumbs instead of one. I guess you could use two thumbs in portrait but it's hard to hold it too. Typing in landscape mode is waaay faster than in portrait.
