my sidewalk is low heat absorption pavers (along with patio) and it looks like its catching the sleet off the roof, everything else is just wet. i bet we will see freezing as the sun sets, i'm planning on going into work late tomorrow.

Pat, when I took Avery out my walkways were skating rinks. It is going to be nasty in the morning with how cold it's going to be. Hopefully no more precip falls and the roads can dry out a bit before freezing but the radar doesn't look like it's going to agree with that.

I just went from 6forks & 540 to 401&540 then took 401 N to rolesville
540 wasnt great, but wasnt terrible then 401 was fine until about mitchell mill road then it got dicey and i had to knock it back to 4wd bc some of the side streets were pretty covered in sleet/snow compacted mox

well some people can't just leave when they want to, and it's hard to predict when it will start. yesterday they were saying the ice might start before or around lunch, but it didn't start until after 3 or so, and the roads were fine for a few hours after that. the storm that happened a few weeks ago started very quickly and the roads were terrible within a half-hour.

Sounds like management needs to be more considerate of the safety of their employees. I can see someone in charge being from the North and not understanding how unprepared we always are down here and how nasty things can get quickly. But seriously, how many times does Raleigh have to get hit with a storm that strands people all over Raleigh before these people start heeding warnings and give people time to get home.
