awesome. 4 TD's for brees. rivers didn't do a thing in the 2nd half with their big lead.
either way good call on rivers having big numbers vs houston. rivers got 20 points and that certainly would have been nice, but brees got me 30 with his yardage and extra TD. i think i'll need it all too. i'm up 62-27 right now but playing against favre, jennings, wynn, and elam tomorrow night.
i think i can hang on unless favre throws like 2+ TD's to jennings, so that 10 points from brees may end up being the difference. 10/28/2007 7:46:42 PM |

My receiving core took care of business today. WR - Hines Ward, Braylon Edwards TE - A. Gates
Had Donte Stallworth scored my whole core would have been double-digits. 10/28/2007 8:12:18 PM |

^^^yeah man, you definitely called the potential 3 TD's for rivers. i just felt more comfortable with the likelihood of brees putting up solid numbers than rivers. brees went 31/39 compared to rivers 7/11. you still get props for rivers' performance though, i was honestly expecting less (although he really didn't do much in the yardage category). gates torched the texans and then chambers even got in the mix in his first game with that 3rd TD.
next week i have to decide between then again with brees going against the jaguars and rivers going against the vikings. i think in general when it's rivers vs brees i'm going to have to give brees the nod every time just b/c of the system, but the jags are a tough matchup that makes rivers worth consideration. i'm also worried about reggie bush. i didn't see the game (just followed on gametracker) but he left with a hip pointer and didn't come back. i'm not sure if it was just b/c they were up so much (very likely), or if i should worry about his playing status next week. i get alexander back from his bye (bust of the year) but lose chatman to his bye so i'd be pretty screwed.
regardless, good call on rivers but i'm happy i stuck with brees. 10/28/2007 10:31:28 PM |

Minny has the WORST pass D in the league and one of the BEST rush D's...how do you not start Rivers? McNabb has been stinking it up for the most part all year and he threw for 300+ yards with 0 INT's. I'd say Rivers is a lock to start next week and have a good game. 10/29/2007 7:13:44 AM |

I'm about to drop Andre Davis, which WR should I pick up as my WR3/WR4?
Brandon Stokley Kevin Walter David Patten 10/29/2007 7:52:43 AM |

Damn It, I lost to the last place team because Alex Smith decided to throw a late TD to Vernon Davis, both picked up on waivers by my opponent and because he picked up the Bills Def that scored 25pts against me.
I was in prime position to go 5-3 and get past the bye weeks with hopefully a strong finish, now I'm 4-4. Oh well. This season has been tough for me as my big name picks screwed me this year (Gore, Bulger, Evans, V Jack, Andre Johnson, Rivers...however he played well yesterday.) 10/29/2007 8:29:41 AM |

Yeah I also had Andre Davis but wisely knew the return of Jacoby Jones this week would mean he'd be pretty useless, and I was right.
If Andre Johnson is back next week(I think they'll bring him back after the BYE in 2 weeks honestly) then avoid Kevin Walter, otherwise he might be a good play for one week.
David Patten actually might be worth a look, he has been solid the last 2-3 games and so has Colston, it appears their pass O has really picked it up and he should usually draw the #2 DB and possibly some one-on-ones.
And yes Stokley is a good play while Walker is out, and potentially if Brandon Marshall misses anytime from his legal run-ins recently. So I'd monitor Stokley's performance tonight against a solid Packers' D and see how many looks he receives. 10/29/2007 12:23:33 PM |

I just made this trade and am already regretting it. I got Portis, he got Boldin. I am deep at WR so losing Boldin was not a big deal and I wanted to have RB insurance with my other guys - LT, Lynch, and Barber III. I also have K.Watson.
I just doubt Portis will do anything significant the rest of the season. I'm only going to play him if he gets healthy and starts putting up consistent 80+ yard games.

id make the trade if you are getting stallworth
with people shutting down Moss Stallworth is a good target, Welker of course is huge too...
Berrian has Griese and Rex throwing more INTS than TDs and you wont get anywhere with recievers if the QBs cant even get them the ball...id say go for it. 10/29/2007 5:12:25 PM |

I think you start Portis against the Jets and White against Carolina. Obviously the Jets are the Jets and the Titans can't throw the ball to save their lives.
As for the the third I think you go with Young if he is starting against Detroit. If not I would go with McGahee, but I don't know if Baltimore will even get into the endzone against Pittsburgh with their passing game being as inept as it is. 10/30/2007 11:36:04 AM |
