They might be winning though because politicians generally over estimate how conservative their constituents are:

Welp, website is working fine now, but the GOP platform is still broken. With Obamacare enrollment soaring, time to move on to the next set of talking points. Maybe they'll try and shut the government down over unemployment benefits!

It's ridiculous because your article claims it's ridiculous? Or do you have any original contributions to add as to why conservative backlash against the proposed budget deal is ridiculous?

atleast Boehner is showing some interest, so hopefully we will get a vote.

Some of these right wing groups just refuse to accept compromise. Ryan and Boehner and Co. had to know it was coming (hell, most of the groups started attacking it before it was released) so hopefully they've got some kind of plan to rally the reasonable people still left in the House.

The split in the GOP is ever-widening, and budget stuff is the kinda thing that could linger around till 2014 and be used in ads, etc. It'll be about damn time for conservative voters to kick one side or the other to the curb.

See, that's the thing though. Neither side will get kicked to the curb because these people are representative of tr electorate in lots of places in this country. In te senate, the crazy is more diffuse across entire states so you only get crazy people from the legitimate retard states like Texas. In the house, there are deep red districts that will keep churning out these psychos. There will be no compromise between the establishment and the tea partiers until they inevitably split. And then America wins.

Quote :
"The Republican establishment's much-anticipated pushback against the tea party wing is underway. House Speaker John Boehner made that clear Thursday, when he renewed his denunciation of groups that try to defeat GOP incumbents they consider too willing to compromise with Democrats.

Some Republican loyalists wonder what took so long. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently took steps to help mainstream Republicans in party primaries, but Boehner's high-profile outburst will move the effort to the GOP's front burners."

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2013/12/15/ryan-says-gop-to-make-debt-ceiling-demands-in-early-14/

after crafting a budget that raises the debt, Paul Ryan calls for another debate about the debt ceiling.

At this point they are just trolling Americans for being too dumb to know what the debt ceiling is.

Since most gun-rights groups are hardcore GOPers (unfortunately), I've been very sad to see their comments on this whole duck dynasty thing. How fucking stupid can you be? To proclaim yourselves as knowing the constitution and how it applies to the people, then to even mention the first amendment in regards to Phil is beyond me. I'm sure those within these groups know how the constitution works, but their blind ideology perks up when it comes to GOP rant time.

Ah, so the argument being made is that A&E has violated Phil's First Amendment rights by censoring him/placing him on a hiatus?

lol twitter feeds. I have yet to find an opinion piece or article insinuating his first amendment rights have been violated... and I have looked for a good 5 minutes or so.

and none of my facebook friend or anyone I have talked to about the issue have claimed that first amendment rights have been violated.

Also:
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/12/20/top-5-reasons-why-ae-should-not-suspend-duck-dynasty-patriarch-phil-robertson/
Quote :
" Phil was presumably expressing his religious views. No matter how distasteful, religious views get greater constitutional protections even in the private entity context. Private employers are generally allowed to fire employees if they don’t like what they say, but if they are expressing a religious viewpoint, the speech may be protected and should certainly be viewed with greater sensitivity."

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/12/19/ae-declares-war-on-duck-dynastys-christian-values/
Quote :
"but because he espoused beliefs held by many Christians, he’s been silenced.

Perhaps A&E could provide the nation with a list of what they believe is politically correct speech.

Maybe they could tell us what Americans can say, think and do. Should the U.S. Constitution be amended to prevent Americans from holding personal beliefs that others might not agree with?"

those are literally the first two opinion pieces on Fox News website, just the first two of others. and the talking heads have also been parroting this first amendment narrative on TV.

And from the front page of The Blaze opinion page:
http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/me-and-my-house-will-serve-the-lord-and-not-watch-ae/
Quote :
"Freedom of speech means that we are all free to speak what we believe. The Supreme Court does restrict some speech. In fact they specifically address such speech that may cause panic or physical injury. The example they give is that someone cannot scream “fire” in a crowded movie theater when there is no fire.
[...]
Under the U.S. Constitution they both have a right to express their thoughts and opinions. So why is Phil being punished for expressing his opinions? Why are you punishing Phil Robertson for being a Christian? This was not an incident of homophobia or hate speech."

you owe me $100

I really can't help you much if you can't understand my post.

Groups claim to know, abide by, and "enforce" the constitution (in a view point I mostly agree with) are now claiming constitutional rights violations against Phil. That is the connection. And these groups just happen to be my exposure to traditional-GOPers for this issue via social media posts and website articles. I don't watch fox or read anything like blaze. The issue was compounded by the shear number of people agreeing with the statements made by these groups.

And of course Phil has first amendment protections... from the government, not A&E; which is not what so many GOPers and groups, in my circles are claiming, as they referenced 1A rights in regards to A&E's actions.
