Back to the topic at hand. There's two weeks before UNC's next game. How many of these thugs will be back?

I'm guessing that Austin and Little are gone for the season. The tutor thing may snag another couple for 3 games unless the NCAA really finds some stuff to bring down the hammer. I doubt that anyone's suspended for more than 4 games (sans Austin and Little).

As always, fuck UNC.

haha, they are bitching because we had three guys arrested for fucking possession of marijuana. REALLY?

and now they are talking about what great CHARACTER their team has. Because nothing says "CHARACTER" like having thirteen fucking players suspended for cheating.

UNC fans need to be more concerned with getting that goose egg out of their win column, than a few State players smoking weed...especially since Quan Sturdivant actually played in last night's game

whereas TOB actually held players out who were involved (Bryan wasn't there at the time)

^probably a typo...he probably meant 'fags'

Not to defend UNC or anything but since when has there been a halo rule for onside kicks? The whole point is to kick the ball into the ground and have it bounce really high so your players can jump up and catch it before the receiving team. Halo rule completely negates that and I never heard of it before last night.

from what i understood, they hit the LSU guy before the ball had travelled 10 yards or an LSU player touched the ball. nothing about a halo.

NCAA Football Rule 6-1-2g
Quote :
"No Team A (kicking team) player may block an opponent until Team A is eligible to touch a
free-kicked ball"

I believe the replay clearly showed that the LSU player was contacted prior to touching the ball and the ball had yet to travel 10 yards, therefore it should have been a penalty.

you guys are forgetting something important about TJ Yates.

He has always looked good the first couple games of the season, that is until injuries either to himself or key people happen. And then until he gets a hit a couple of times, he gets happy feet, crooked arms, a jiggly ass, and that stuff, and he can consistently throw the bomb where he rolls out right and hits someone 50yds down the field. He's great at that stuff. And as others have mentioned, LSU essentially gave him all those short and intermediate passes.

This.

It was pretty clear watching it on TV. I mean it was just a missed call like the last play pass interference but still... he definitely got drilled before touching the ball...

Someone on the Monkey board at Packpride posted that John Blake resigned a few hours ago.

No idea if it's legit..the guy has 21 posts, but he did seem pretty confident (Not that it's reaching to make something like that up, it's kind of a foregone conclusion)

I couldn't help it. I know I should cheer for the SEC school over any out of conference opponent, but I have always respected your school and the heart your team showed last night was infectious.

Always been a Butch Davis fan and was confident he would get your team on the right track. No surprise that he took a hard line with players that may have bent the rules, but your school is too good to allow that type of behavior to slide.

That fact that he did the right thing and still played a good LSU team close, UNC deserved to win. Best of luck on the rest of your season. I expect you to make some some noise in your conference."

"While I have enjoyed my tenure at the University of North Carolina, it has become apparent to me over the course of the past few weeks that my presence has become a distraction to my family and to this great University, too. Consequently, I have determined that it is in the best interests of my family, the University community at large, and the Football Program for me to step down from my position as associate head football coach effective, September 5, 2010.
"I thank the Lord for the opportunity I have had to work with Butch Davis while at the University of North Carolina. I have grown to love and respect the school, my fellow coaches, and the young men who have worked so diligently to improve both as students and as football players. That love and respect has led me to the conclusion that the best decision for all involved is for me to step aside at this time. I wish the players, the coaches, and the University all the best.
"I thank the Tar Heel Nation for the overwhelming support I have received. The memories I have made here will last a lifetime. May God bless you all, Blake"

very well written Blake tutor.

"Knowing John as I have over the years, it is clear that this was a difficult decision for him to make. I know how much John loves the players, coaching and the game of football. I am grateful for all of his hard work and effort in helping build this program. As difficult as this situation is, I have accepted his resignation. Throughout his career, I know he has worked hard to help young men become better people and football players. He and his family have made positive contributions to our football program.
"The Tar Heel family has tremendous passion for the University and everything it represents. It's one of the things that made me want to be a Tar Heel four years ago. All of us who are part of the football program have been both disappointed and embarrassed by recent events. Our student-athletes, coaches and I are committed to working every day, both on and off the field, to build a better football program, one that everyone associated with the University of North Carolina can and will be proud of, Davis said"

Hard decision for him??? Did he have a choice?

or a much more likely and less conspiracy theory idea would be that the decision was made in the last week or so and they held off announcing it until after the game so as not to distract the players

SynrgySports: Re Austin: Penalty 4 perjury in NC? Class F felony punishable up to 20 yrs in prison. Think he takes that for Blake or anyone else? I don't

SynrgySports: Not a game anymore. Lie to NCAA and worst case scenario your eligibility gets yanked. You lie to state prosecutors, and you land behind bars

SynrgySports: The truth of the matter: John Blake may b forced 2 mount a full-scale legal defense against the allegations of one his former plyrs. Brutal.

SynrgySports: Blake resig. comes at intrsting time. Did he just realize he was "a distraction" or did wht Marv is going 2 say under subpoena distract him?

At Miami, Davis used the Track Coach to put his football players on track schollys.

And UNC he used black santa to set up the "Gift that keeps on giving" system.

Davis is running out of fall guys.

And don't even get me started on the Assistant track coach that was found dead.

Davis should just resign at the end of the year and go buy a house in montana and coach midget league.

^^ I didn't think you could do that (track guys playing football). I understood that if someone plays multiple sports, they are counted against football/bball/baseball limits first? Or did that come about because of Butch?

LSU had a chance, thus why nothing was called because the football hit a LSU player first and then UNC recovered....so I am guessing since it touched a LSU player first, that player did not touch the ball due to a block, he was tackled right after he touched it.

note the term "eligible". Team A is only eligible after the ball has gone 10 yards or it hits an LSU player. I contend the LSU player was touched by UNC prior to touching the ball (this would be a violation).

The Track guy was gonna spill the beans on the system they have running at UNC.

So then he dies the same way Sonny Liston dies.

The system at Miami was, they got the track coach to "recruit" certain kids to the track team and were put on track schollys at miami cause Butch inherited a program with severe scholarship limitations. So they'd run track in the spring and play for UM football in the fall.

Now, the system they have going is that players that have already made the league ie: Ketwan Balmer (sp?) Give money to current players at UNC ie: Marvin Alstin (see his ride).
Then when Austin gets to the league, he's supposed to "help" current kids.
This is all part of Jeff Blakes (Black Santa) system.

The assistant track coach knew about this because he has ties to the Miami track program and to UNC obviously. He recently lost his job and was gonna spill the beans. Then all the sudden he got the "bad bag." Probably a bad batch of heroine.

Thats how the mafia off'd Sonny Liston when he was gonna snitch on their operations.
The mafia was paying off Sonny's manager to get Sonny perform in certain ways so that more money could be made in bets on his fights. Sonny didn't want to go along with it, so the mafia start putting the pressure on Sonny and right before Sonny spills the beans, the mafia gave him a bad bag of heroine.

This is a common practice with drug dealers when they have customers that make problems for them. They get the "bad bag." Boom, problem solved.

Now you have the UNC program distancing themselves from Austin. Then you have the state officially giving Austin a subpena. Blake knows that Austin will flip and uncover Blake's operation. But Blake knows he can't "get rid of" Austin. (high profile player about to get drafted, too many eyes on austin) So Blake hands in his resignation today and scrams. You can bet that Blake will be moving as far away from CH as possible.

Butch will be gone after the season. Those elitist farts in chapel hill can't take all this tough boy drama.
