My Integra sucked up water once and quit (actually it's happened twice but other time was with snow ) when I was idling through a parking lot. Hit a really deep puddle and the CAI sucked up a bunch of water.

And as you know my engine's still ticking, hehe.

Getting a low(er) mile engine and a rebuilt trans in the Dakota. Should have been finished yesterday or today, but....

got the trolling motor for the boat reassembled after cleaning the gearcase and clearancing some parts and replacing the steering motor. Less than $10 in parts sure beats a $250 gearcase.

A day later, the starter worked fine again. I pulled the fuel pump relay and cranked for a while several times (with nice long cooling periods for the starter); it shot a fair amount of water out of a couple cylinders, and a little out of at least a couple more.

I R&R'd 10x spark plugs. Changed chocolate-milky looking oil & filter. Runs fine in the driveway...no unexpected noises; no smoke. Blew a shitload of water out the exhaust for 5 minutes or so when I fired it up.

Only issue is that if you have if revved any and release the throttle, it cuts off. I think it's an air/fuel metering issue due to my having the intake taken apart. My Z06 did the same thing if you had the intake disassembled.

Don't ever buy a northern car.

Siezed brake calipers on the front of the 2.5RS, took 7 hours to change the front pads...

Not in a rush, but damn, that sucked. Did those while helping a buddy pull his engine from an 02 WRX, install lightweight flywheel and clutch and reinstall the engine.

That sucks. Can still happen to southern cars though. Happened to my Integra one year at Spring Break in Panama City. Parking brake was on all week and I didn't drive it anywhere. Rear caliper seized up and wouldn't disengage. Had a shop unfreeze it and then clamp off that brake line. Drove back from FL with 3 brakes

Took the Cayman on a camping trip last wknd. Fit in it:
50 quart Igloo cooler
6 man tent
sleeping bag
camping chair
tarp
small charcoal grill
food in small hard cooler
lantern, clothes, towels, etc.
my dog

was a bit snug

The external gate (see manifold pic on last page) sits a bit close to my brake master cyl. Not much room for pipe routing, even with sharp 90 degree sections. Doubt I'll be able to snake a dump tube down to the turbine outlet elbow.

Lol I was joking but it will def get you some drift cred...

I'll look at the pic again see if I have any ideas... Dump tube is not as critical to have laminar flow as say headers are (not really laminar but uniform and smooth) waste gate works more on pressure differential than flow rate down stream of the gate)

Couldn't you cut a wedge out of that tube an rotate it to point wherever you have space?

I have a hand full of stainless 2" short radius weld els too.

Good point on the flow. A few sharp turns leading to a flowing exhaust might still create a better WG flow rate than no sharp turns dumping straight to atmosphere.

There's a stock catch can that sits somewhat behind the WG (don't want to remove it, as its baffling drains back into the block, unlike most aftermarket cans), the BMC is almost right next to the WG, and the charge piping pops up just in front of the WG. I'll be able to mock it up better once I put the new manifold in, but preliminary measurements compared to the current stock manifold isn't looking promising.

It's 1.5" piping btw. I have a fairly long section to play with. I could still pie cut it and re-route it if possible. Orrrrrrrrrrr I could be lazy and dump it out of the hood (hell, I haven't even had my hood on for a few months now anyways) with the single bend that I've already made.

Eventually. The manifold is a pain to take off (has to come out with the turbo, outlet elbow, and oil/coolant lines attached), so I'm in no rush

What's Tag & Tax?
I see my inspection is not required in the mail notice, but I'm prevented from paying online.

A (flat) fee and a percentage-based tax paid to the state. If you can't pay it online, go to a DMV office.

For my part, replaced plug wires on the Crown Vic. Intermittent vibration still evident. Next suspect is a failing coil; need to figure out which one

Just put new radiator and all new hoses in the f150. The oil cooler lines were a bitch. Pays to buy quality hoses, they all fit with no cutting or kinks. Still have to fix weeping trans connection in the Morin before work.

My M3's hood cable snapped, so I removed the normal hood latches and added AeroCatches.

I've been in the process of getting it more track ready, so at this point everything interior wise (including carpet) is gone behind the front seats. I had a roll bar welded in, basically the back half of a full NASA/SCCA legal cage:

Next I installed two Recaro Profi XL (for the height mainly) seats in the car with 6 point harnesses. Finally finished that tonight, just in time for a track day at CMP this weekend. I really like how it came out in the end:

Jek why is the SRS module still in that car? With the harness you wont want the airbag.

^ Good eyes No real disadvantage to leaving the airbag system in for now, and potential legal disadvantages to taking it out. Right now, although not ideal, the car is still driven to the track. Might as well leave it in for now.

And yes, I know 6 point harnesses are of dubious legality on the street. It hasn't been an issue so far in TN though, cops don't seem to notice/care.

-changed oil in red truck; noticed bronze material in old oil....we're going to just ignore that and wait for the hair dryer to screech to a halt.

- cleaned air filter in red truck

- installed O2 sensor in friends car, cleaned his filter at same time as mine

^^^ haha I wash my Ram maybe once every couple of years. it's a beater, though...I don't think there's a piece of metal anywhere on the body that is straight and rust free. The frame isn't straight, either, so there are gaps on the order of a couple of inches between some of the panels, too...haha.

I dropped the 7 off at Maaco the other day for a paint job. The car doesn't warrant a nice paint job, but $800 should make a significant improvement in the cosmetics. I figure it'll add at least that to the resale value of the car, too.

I went with Porsche Guards Red (they didn't have any Lotus colors in their books)...so it's a British car by design and title, with Japanese drivetrain and rear suspension, in a German color, built in 'Merica (by an Army helicopter pilot in Alabama, no less).

now I have a three to five inch gap between the header flange and the exhaust flange

and the muffler shop is closed today so they can't weld together an extender
