i felt bad for carl. he went through all that with his mom then his dad didn't even go to comfort him when he found out (granted he didn't know all the details yet but he knew carl had been there).

and i guess this is bc i just had a baby, but the whole time the main thing i was thinking was OMFGWHATARETHEYGONNAFEEDTHATKID?!?!?!!

Also, I'm hoping that this leads to a character transformation for Carl, the putting away of childish things and whatnot. They've already hinted at this some with a lot of brooding since Shane's death and his conflict with his mom and looking toward Herschel's daughter. I'd love to see him become a reliable, crucial group member.

i was thinking the same thing about feeding the baby... I'm guessing they are going to have to go on a supply run and find some formula. i guess animal milk would be a very poor substitute, but might keep him from starving in the short term.

yeah they can develop allergies if given animal milk this early, but like you said that'd be better than nothing i think. i think the preview for next week showed someone (daryl?) making a run to look for formula maybe.

i'm also wondering how they're going to keep the baby quiet & not attract walkers. my kid SCREAMS & has never had that tiny little newborn cry, ever. i guess theoretically they could hole up in the prison until she's old enough to not cry all the time...but that'd be a long time & the story would pretty much stagnate. maybe that baby will be one of those magical happy babies that just sleeps all the time.

oh! and there was a tiny part of me that was hoping that when maggie flipped the baby onto her arm when it wasn't breathing/crying yet, that it would bite her.

Maybe they can luck out and find a pregnant zombie, and give the baby zombie milk.

I don't want to turn this into a comic book discussion, but I do like how the TV show vs Comic are differing on how and when certain characters die. On that note, where is the death toll at now for our lovable crew? I am glad they seem to be taking in the 2 prisoners Axel and Oscar. They need manpower to get their prison all fixed up, especially after losing 2.5 characters (where the fuck is Carol?).

My 1 complaint about this past episode, is when the zombies overran the prison, and Maggie called over Carl and Lori. They entered in that cage looking staircase, and then went into the prison. If they only closed the cage door, and kept the prison door shut, they would have been safe. I don't know how this would have impacted the birth, but it would have caused less stress to Lori, an Hershel would have near by to potentially help. Too late now though, so fuck it, and move on.

I doubt they will push the envelope that much, with someone needing to shoot the baby in the head...

Also, I kind of thought they would've shown the birth a bit more graphically (although I'm glad they didn't, plus it's not HBO)

They tried to go back to their cell block and close themselves in there. They only knew that zombies were suddenly outside where they had previously cleared. They had no idea that the sections of the prison they had previously secured were no longer safe.

In the generator room scene, Daryl can barely hold the door from the hoarde of zombies pushing in. Then, Daryl leaves the door to sneak up on the black prisoner to protect Rick. Why was there suddenly no threat of zombies?

Any else notice in the scene where the gov shot up the convoy, when he went to shoot the final guy as he ran away he used an AR15 with no rear sight on it? Pretty good shot considering he couldn't actually aim it...

Dislike what they have shown of World War Z. Looks like they are fast zombies, which typically result in more suspense, completely changes the way the book felt. So much for a reporter traveling the world and listening to first hand survivor stories.

Damn, that WWZ preview is trash. These Zombies remind me of I Am Legend zombies. They are not just sprinting, but super agile and aggressive super zombies. WTF, this had such high hopes. I remember when they first announced this movie, people were saying that not only will it be the best zombie movie ever, but it might be in the running for movie of the year.... If done right, and it stays true to the book. Well, they fucked that up. I will still go see it, but I will make sure to remember that this movie is disconnected from the book, and I should not even try to compare anything between the two, expect that it just so happens to have the same title.

Agreed. I think the Walking Dead zombies are the most believable. they're not completely immobile, they still can get around, and can even move fairly quickly sometimes, depending how "fresh" their bodies are, but the virus doesn't give them super-human speed and quickness, which i find silly and completely unbelievable.
