besides, you cant even hold your breath with an ACOG scope

honestly they're probably about equally as effective at medium or short range, but I'll take the Thermal for long range engagements any day of the week

You just have to know what to look for.

They aren't gonna glow, but you can still see them, and you have to look for movement a little more. But you can see them.

Another bonus to Thermal is that it also increases range, and is steadier than the ACOG even when not holding breath.


^I couldn't agree more. There is no circumstance where I would ever consider using ACOG over anything. It is possibly the worst optic in the game IMO.

Every time I've attempted to use it, it just adds recoil it seems and makes it hard as fuck to hit anyone with any sort of consistency.

Thermal is probably my favorite, at least on the L86. Turns that thing into a laser rifle. You can kill someone clear across the entire distance of any map.

I think the only time I've willingly used an ACOG scope on any weapon was to complete the "Get 20 kills while looking through the ACOG Scope on this weapon" challenges or whatever

To be honest iv only used therm on a sniper rifle and I hated it. But I switch ars so much they are all 20-23 rankings :-/

Yeah I don't think it would be good on a sniper rifle since the zoom isn't that much and you only get one shot with the sniper.

Throw it on the L86 where you can spray downrange and its $.

seriously i feel it's cheating... but only because i went from pc to xbox 360 5 years ago before this thing came out and i'm still better at pc games (because i was in a top ranked quake clan ias far back as 95 lol )

But do what you must... i'm still not as good with the xbox as i was before my 1st one RRODed (3 years ago)

I started on PC and it took me forever to get decent with a controller.

I'm ok with it though because I'd rather be relaxed on my couch, than sitting at a desk.

I feel like I do everything better with a controller too, except aiming, obviously.

aim assist doesn't kick in on a mouse - we increase our sensitivity too high for aim assist to do anything. we actually fucking hate aim assist because it fucks up our precision
