^why would you crack your windows on a day when it's only supposed to be in the mid 70s? Seems like an unnecessary risk to me. Sorry man!

No storm in south Raleigh last night.

Because when I got back from lunch it felt way too hot and humid outside not too... the good news is surprisingly when I got in my car it was hardly wet appears pouring rain and huge drops is much better off in that situation than a nice slow rain. *shrug*

Freeze Watch

Statement as of 3:32 PM EDT on November 05, 2010

... Freeze watch in effect from late Saturday night through Sunday
morning...

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a freeze
watch... which is in effect from late Saturday night through
Sunday morning.

Cold high pressure will build into the Carolinas from the west
Saturday night. Morning low temperatures are expected to range
from the upper 20s in the western Piedmont to the lower 30s in the
coastal plain. A freeze warning will likely be needed for much or
all of the area Saturday night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible.
These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

Tornado Watch

Statement as of 8:50 PM EST on November 16, 2010

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
Tornado Watch for portions of

central North Carolina
central South Carolina
central Virginia

Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 850 PM
until 400 am EST.

Tornadoes... hail to 0.5 inch in diameter... thunderstorm wind
gusts to 80 mph... and dangerous lightning are possible in these
areas.

The Tornado Watch area is approximately along and 75 statute
miles east and west of a line from 20 miles east southeast of
Columbia South Carolina to 5 miles northwest of Charlottesville
Virginia. For a complete depiction of the watch see the
associated watch outline update (wous64 kwns wou1).

Remember... a Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

Discussion... scattered thunderstorms are increasing along/ahead of
surface cold front over western VA/NC/SC. These storms will track
northeastward across the watch area through much of the night as a
strong upper trough rotates into region. Very strong wind fields
will offset weak instability for a risk of a few severe storms.
Damaging winds are the primary threat. However... sufficient low
level vertical shear is present for the potential for isolated
tornadoes as well.

Aviation... tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 0.5 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface
wind gusts to 70 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to
350. Mean storm motion vector 24040.

Tornado Watch

Statement as of 2:15 AM EST on December 01, 2010
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
Tornado Watch for portions of

central and eastern North Carolina
eastern South Carolina
central and southern Virginia
coastal waters

Effective this Wednesday morning from 215 am until 900 am EST.

Tornadoes... hail to 0.5 inch in diameter... thunderstorm wind
gusts to 70 mph... and dangerous lightning are possible in these
areas.

The Tornado Watch area is approximately along and 70 statute
miles east and west of a line from 45 miles north of Richmond
Virginia to 20 miles west southwest of Myrtle Beach South
Carolina.

Other watch information... continue... ww 760...

Discussion... line of forced convection/isold tstms appears to be
increasing attm from vicinity of deepening sfc low in S cntrl VA swd
through cntrl NC. Given very weak sfc-based buoyancy... this trend
most likely reflects increasing uvv associated with TN Vly upr vort
that is beginning to take on a negative tilt. Very strong... largely
unidirectional wind field with backed near-sfc flow... and increasing
low lvl moisture suggest potential for isold tornadoes in addition
to small bows/mesovortices with dmgg wind.

Aviation... tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 0.5 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface
wind gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to
350. Mean storm motion vector 21050.

This morning they issued a two-hour delay for 8PM exams, and a hour for 1PM exams for Thursday.

So I guess that's something, though not really.
