He probably should but recent history shows that Indiana likes to give it to people who stay in state. a few years are an exception however.
I'm mainly refering to 2005 when luke zeller won the award

Yeah I remember Ben in #16, he was right in front of me, he yells 'AND ONE!!!!!!' all pumped up and then proceeded to miss the extra point
I facepalmed, but overall he's playing much better
back on the subject, at least wall's still attending games and actually got to see a good one

I know its always Wait Til Next Year with Wolfpack Basketball, but damn... you gotta be excited about the incoming freshmen... Especially if we could add Wall/Cousins to the mix.
Wall was at the Carolina game yesterday. When are you students gonna realize who he is and get a chant going for him during a timeout or something? 2/1/2009 9:12:21 AM |

are you serious? you want me to start a cheer for some high school kid in the middle of a state/carolina game?
if he walked out to the middle of the court and signed his LOI, I would do it. otherwise, there are more important matters to pay attention to. 2/1/2009 9:56:51 AM |

From Rivals:
Quote : | " What are the odds of Memphis landing DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall AND Latavious Williams?
-- Sam from Germantown, Tenn. ----- Scarily enough, the odds aren't that bad.
Playing time at Memphis could factor into John Wall's decision. With four prospects already signed, Memphis would have to do some serious juggling with the roster and the scholarship situation to add three more players. But I have a strong feeling that coach John Calipari can figure out a way to fit in three five-star prospect, two of which are elite prospects.
There are also some concrete contingencies for each of these three to end up at Memphis.
For Williams, the No. 1 hurdle is qualifying academically. Memphis is his favorite at the present time, so if he qualifies the odds are strong that he ends up in Memphis. Baylor is the other school high on Williams' list.
For Cousins, the key is that Mike Davis doesn't land another college coaching job. If Davis lands another job, Cousins will follow. If Davis stays at UAB, Memphis needs to hold off North Carolina State and Kansas State in particular to land Cousins.
For Wall, the prerequisite for Memphis is that Tyreke Evans enters the 2009 NBA draft. If Evans sticks around for another year, it is highly doubtful that Wall would go to Memphis. Both prospects need the ball in their hands, and with the other options available to Wall it is hard to see him choosing Memphis if Evans is still there. And even if Evans does enter the draft, Wall to Memphis is certainly no sure thing.
So a lot would have to happen or not happen for Memphis to land a monster seven-man class, but it is certainly a possibility. The addition of one or two more players, however, is a lot stronger possibility. " |
How the hell can Memphis even "juggle the roster" when they are already at full right now? That's gotta be a joke. If by juggle, he means force transfers or force tutors to stop helping his own kids make grades, then maybe.2/1/2009 10:09:49 AM |
jmpack15 All American 4470 Posts user info edit post |
a small wall chant during a timeout/halftime wouldn't be bad. its all good though, chants are probably a non-factor to him at this point since he has heard it all.
i really think we get Wall. Cousins, not so sure about.
But can you just imagine an incoming class of Wall (5-Star, Some peoples #1 player), Cousins (5-star McD's AllAmerican), Scott Wood (3star sharp shooter), Richard Howell (4star big man/college ready size), and Lorenzo Brown (4star, possible McD's AllAmerican, scorer)?

5* PF Luke Cothron took in the UNC game. He looks like a grown ass man, not a high school junior. I know he's originally from Alabama, but he currently attends Flora MacDonald Academy in Red Springs, NC.
Power forward Red Springs (NC) Flora Macdonald Academy AAU: Southeast Elite Ht: 6-foot-8 Wt: 210 lbs Class: 2010
Rivals - ***** - #17 overall nationally - #7 PF Scout - **** - #16 PF
Schools Interested (known offers in italics) Connecticut Alabama Arkansas Virginia Tech Auburn UAB Florida State Wake Forest Georgia Tech LSU Memphis Mississippi State N.C. State Oklahoma
I really would like to get another big man in the 2010 class, b/c I don't think we take another in the 2009 class if Cousins goes elsewhere. I would love to get Melvin Tabb, since his mother is an alum. 2/2/2009 6:57:02 PM |

He was telling me that they need some some big men to come in and help them win games. He said if I went there I could have a chance to play a lot and fill the shoes of the guys they have that are leaving."
What did Cothron like most about his unofficial visit?
"I liked the fans," he said. "They were crazy. It was a good game, and I don't think there was a seat left empty in the RBC Center. That was a tight game.
"I really liked the RBC Center. It was big and really nice. I would love to play in a place like that when I go to college, but I've just got to look at all of my options first." " | ]2/3/2009 4:40:28 PM |

no. i dont want any of you to beg for anything ... most of you like (except Callip) to diss all my posts about recruiting and how i repost things from PP so whats the point if i post it or not. Since everything i post apparently comes from PP then why dont you try to go find it yourselves.
plus, the rumors are silly and not worth discussing. i have rumors on the entire team from a gigantic email that came from one of the team's managers and guess what, im not posting any of that shit either.
there is no point in posting these stupid rumors so why perpetuate them?

Honestly, I get the feeling that Wall is a lock at Baylor for some reason. Just an opinion. I think that a lot of this is just posturing so less attention is drawn to the hiring of his mentor...
