^^ Shameless plug? Well if not, you would need setup info from your WiFi administrator. If it's not password protected, just go into your PS3 settings and have it auto search available WiFi access points. Pretty Easy! If they aren't that open... you'll need the password and may need to plug in manual settings the same way you would on a computer. PS3 network settings are pretty much the same as any other OS's network settings.

^ I'm also interested in what you find out. FYI, VLC on linux (on ps3) will play more xvid and divx files than PS3 game OS will... but the graphics aren't rendered as well. You will probably have better luck under Gnome than under Enlightenment.

Anyway, when i log in from my lapop, the login page comes up automatically and I get the wifi going by putting in a login ID and password. Ive tried to manually set this up, with no success, and was hoping someone would post a step-by-step way to get this going on the wifi - or post a link that would help me out.

because these "achievements" actually do something in game, like unlocking hidden content, videos, character costumes, etc. that is by getting them, you actually get different things in the game, not just some stupid score to make your epenis grow. if by collecting all the things I got absolutely nothing in return, I wouldn't do it

yeah, i'm going to have to go ahead and throw up a bullshit flag on that one...maybe some of them do like getting laptops in CoD4 (but those only account for 40 of the 1000 points), but look at the other 960 points...complete this level, complete that level, beat the game, blah blah blah...but only those 40 points unlock extras in the game. and I'm pretty sure that there is no extra content unlocked in orange box with all the achievements that are buried in there...or how about Guitar Hero? Scoring 750,000 points on a song doesn't suddenly make more songs appear

We all know it's a very successful and neat mechanic of what xbox live's about, but you keep feeling the need to talk about how you think it's stupid. Well that's great and all but the proof is in the pudding - and it's not up to you. I have a PS3 for blu ray movies thanks...and I have an xbox360 for gaming. Best of both worlds. However, if i wasn't a gamer or someone who is into electronics I would not own a PS3, I'd own a stand alone blu ray player because WTF am i going to do with a gaming console if i don't play games??? Only reason I bought the PS3 over a stand alone is because i figured after all the money sony poured into this machine, they will one day have a decent game on it. The only reason I bought FIFA08 on the PS3 vs the Xbox360 besides being inferior to the Xbox360 (720p vs 1080p) is because I felt bad for having a $400 console and no games.

yes, I got a game shark headset for christmas but returned it...mainly because I have no games. And secondly because I think it will work with my jawbone anyway.

I'm loving my PS3...only had it about a month...however what I love about it has very little to do with gaming. Once a few of the titles i mentioned earlier are released then it will have a lot to do with gaming. Its a great media station/blu ray player

you create 'virtual' memory cards on the HD, you can import your saves on your memory cards to them via a usb adapter as well if you have saves you want to keep.

so no, you do not need cards, it saves to the HD
