http://www.metsblog.com

he updates throughout the league. BY FAR the best blogsite I've seen and the guy is our age but has connections EVERYWHERE it seems. He basically has people email him all the hot leads from all the major sites.

I'd check it out..

** it's decidedly Mets biased but is not bad..

Score.

I'm going to go ahead and give this tip: I'm not going to get my three sports stories done today because this.

Matt Cerrone, any relation to Rick Cerrone? Son perhaps?

sox will have to make another deal now, likely for a shortstop...because they have no SS on their big league roster.

Kenny Rogers signed with DET. for 2 years 16 mil.

the word now is that sox will go after a free agent ss, names being thrown around are pokey reece, alex gonzales, and royce clayton.

^ All three of those shortstops are horrible. Good defensive players, but terrible otherwise. Clayton can occasionally be a decent offensive player, but he's not better than Renteria. Maybe they'll go after Nomar - hahahahaha

Miguel Tejada is now saying that he wants to be traded from the Orioles

the captain shouldn't leave his sinking ship. this is why Cal will always be THE hero of O's baseball.

Thought this column by Eric Wilbur was funny.. if anybody's heard Wakefield/Damon's complaining about breaking up the team

while you've got a point, as soon as he got to Baltimore he took the role of clubhouse leader, "heart of the team," and rally player. he asked for it, and he recieved it. now, he's turning his tail and running.

the Red Sox are morons if somehow they trade Manny for Tejada

hell, I think they're morons if they trade him at all - No Manny = No Ortiz

well, offensively the sox aren't hurting, and if they sign damon they definitely won't be. You remember a guy named david ortiz. Also, i have a feeling they will sign a powerful first baseman. After all the errors in the infield this past year, ill take an errorless ss. But i would shit a brick if we somehow got tejada...lets offer up clement and manny if needed. he obviously doesn't want to be in boston anymore.

If we got a solid OF i would take tejada in a heartbeat for manny and clement.

I don't think they'd be okay offensively without Manny though. Okay, if Damon comes back you have him getting on base but who else can produce? Even if they got Tejada, he doesn't really compare to Manny's production.. and without Manny there, Ortiz won't get anything to hit. So you're basically putting your RBI hopes on Varitek, Lowell, Loretta, whatever SS they get, and whoever plays 1B - looking like Youkilis now.

I don't know about you, but I'd be just a little worried about offensive production. What solid OF and 1B are out there?

im tellin ya...someone will become available...we didn't hear about tejada til tonight. and if you think a top four consisting of damon, tejada, and ortiz wouldn't produce along with loretta and loretta you're crazy. Along with much improved pitching and a better defensive team. We'll be better off than this past year.

I'm not saying they're going to suck but I don't see how that lineup is better off than last year's. And I'm also not sure about improved pitching - the bullpen hasn't received much help yet other than Mota and that was where they really needed help. Sure Beckett is a great pickup for the rotation IF he stays healthy and everything I've read said the Sox were about to cancel the deal because his MRI looked so bad. But Clement is shaky at times, Schill and Wake are getting old, Papelbon is untested.. I dunno we'll see

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2253650

^ Papelbon? Yea he pitched at the game I was at in Baltimore. He had electric stuff. Him and Hansen. Although Hansen got rocked on a fastball down the pipe to tie it at 2..

Obviously that's a shitty thing for him to say, but don't you think SOMEONE on the Nationals should have researched this before trading for him?

The Franco signing makes zero sense. Delgado is not going to be platooned with him. That he got two years is astounding.

Tejada doesn't want a trade.

Clemens was receptive to talks with the Red Sox. I think that would be GREAT for him to come back home and finish his career where it started. Full circle..
