I'm sure ASU called Herb on that Saturday and offered him a job and he took it that day without any prior contact. And ASU was the ONLY school that was looking for a coach during and after the tournament. And Herb couldn't have possibly been shopping his name around after the backlash he got from the fans at the end of our 5th straight NCAA tourney season. And even if he was...I'm sure he didn't tell Lee or Lee woudn't have heard about it...

See how I took common sense to just come up with that. I wouldn't have even had to "hear" anything from anyone to come to that conclusion.

Well, I don't know how he feels, but it looks like Barnes will be in rebuilding mode next year: his best four players are history. Not saying that we won't be, but it is interesting at least.

Steve Lavin has decided not to coach at North Carolina State and will remain an analyst with ESPN and ABC Sports.

Lavin talked extensively with Wolfpack athletic director Lee Fowler for more than a week. He also discussed his broadcasting future with executives at ESPN and ultimately decided to stay with TV.

Lavin formerly coached at UCLA from 1996-2003. He has spent the last three seasons in broacasting at ESPN and ABC Sports
