why don't you play music on the webstream when the baseball broadcast is blacked out? it could just be the random crap that you play when no one is there. it's far better than just shutting down the whole thing.

^I believe that is physically impossible, our board cannot run two programs at once, the webstream broadcasts what signal comes from the board when it is turned on.

Im just saying what I believe to be the case, Im not the engineer so I cant say for certain, but just having a basic knowledge of how our equipment works, im pretty sure it wouldnt work

we're the only college station in the area with a computer automation system so apparently we arnt lacking the laziness and funds in that area. Without that we wouldn't be able to do what you're saying. Also we are all students who get paid far below minimum wage to do our jobs at the station so I wouldn't call what we suffer from as laziness.

but I know nothing about the computer system so it would be our engineers job.

i don't know. i'm pretty sure wuag had automation when i was in high school close to ten years ago. i knew a handful of the people who ran that station back then. and when dj's play the same tired crap over and over, yes. that's lazy.

and automation of playlists seems like the epitome of lazy (for the dj's at the very least)

but every college station in the area streams music over the internet and wxyc was the first.

^^ at least the college stations around here.

wxyc has to have someone in the station at all times playing music which becomes a problem late at night and on holidays. Having this is both a blessing and a curse for knc imo.
