Other than the fact that it's a disgusting, reckless abondonment of everything that Bond movie should be, I have no problem with it.

They humanized Bond. He made mistakes left and right. I don't want to see a mortal James Bond, because he is not mortal. He's James freakin' Bond. He is who we watch when we want to be reminded of the pinnacle of everything that is awesome.

I don't want to see a James Bond who yells such crude things as "YES! Now when you die the world will know you scratched my balls!" That totally blindsided me. I literally said out loud in the theater, "What the fuck did he just say?" I had a similar reaction to him saying "that bitch is dead."

I assume everyone is aware of the fact that Bond is tall, dark, and handsome, not short, blond, and ugly.

And from a film stand point, who can forget the INCREDIBLY awkward forty minute sequence toward the end that just kept fading away to happy music. I had no clue wtf was going on. Was it ending soon? Is there more? Yes, there was more, but the pacing was godawful.

Music: where was the main Bond theme? It was very subtley laid throughout the entire score, but never rocked fully until the closing credits. What in the hell??

The only redeeming factors in my viewing experience: The opening credits were cool, as always.

Meh. My 0.02. I know there's a lot of casual fans on here though. Straight.

^well this movie was like a beginning of sorts for james bond. He's wet behind the ears so he is not going to be perfect. We get to see the polished bond in the later movies. I thought this was one of the better bonds IMO. Less bullshit and more cool shit.

yeah i was definitely not being sarcastic. this was the best bond movie i've seen. i'm not necessarily saying craig is the best bond, as connery is likely the most fit for that title right now. i definitley thought craig did a good job with the role though, and i'm actually looking forward to the next bond movie for once.

I just liked it because bond WAS more human...so for the exact opposite of why some didnlt like it


other Bond movies bored me with all their stupid uses of gadgets, this one just seemed more entertaining BUT I do agree that the ending had horrible pacing

What I like about it is that it got to the point. When he wanted to kill someone he did it. Long lasting fight scenes are cool and all, but in RL they are gonna just freaking kill you

I saw it this past weekend and I think it is one of the best Bond movies as of lately. And I was afraid I wouldnt like Daniel Craig as Bond, but now to me, he IS Bond. Very good movie, two thumbs up.

Saw it today. Yeah I know I'm late, big deal.

I thought it was a great movie.

I never saw the ending coming....I figured it was over when they were all happy-go-lucky on the boat.

I did not notice a large number of "product placements" as was mentioned in this thread. Maybe you guys are paying too much attention to it. I didn't see that many, so obviously it didn't bother me.

You said "movie" and perhaps that is true. However, considering the fact that this movie stays true to the author's book, and it is his first Bond book, I have no problem seeing this "reckless abandonment" of a film. Also, yes, this is my favorite Bond movie.

Wow, I don't know what to say. I was so looking foward to this movie, but I almost couldn't finish it. I am not saying its a bad Bond movie, it was just overall BAD. Sure the acting was good and the cinematography was awesome, but the entire story was almost impossible to follow, and it seem it just jumped around a ton. If I had not read the synopsis of what it was about before I watched it, I would have almost had no clue what the hell was going on.

Just saw it on DVD.

I thought this was a good Bond flick, more serious than most, less fun, but still good.

It made me sad when he drove the Ford though

That chase scene through the construction had some memorable moves.

All in all I hope they make a few more with this take on Bond, and bring back
the original music from the early movies, what is called , a "fuzz-tone guitar", you
know what I'm talking about.

I would like to see M die in the next one. Enough already, we get it, women can be the boss, you've made your point, now kill her.

Wow, just wow. I didn't see a single bad review on this and everybody I know loved it so I guess you're in the minority. It was my favorite flick of 2006. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion.

i thought it was really good. I agree that there could have been like three places i thought was the end of the movie. It is one of my top five bond movies along with octopussy, goldeneye, live and let die and goldfinger.
