the big thing is just lack of hope... the program has just gone stale. If State is content with being a "basketball school" who is average at football, then Amato should stay there for 30 years, but if they want to get to the level they were REALLY close to getting to about 4 years ago, he has to go. The program is stagnant, just not doing anything. Carolina is a "worse" program but at least they have something to look forward to with a really really good hire for next year.
