nieman played good D. Ferguson was also playing good D, but if he is in you expect some O too. he had one good drive and dish. I would like to see ferguson getting more minutes but you have to realize that was his first college game EVER. He will eventually be better, but at least giver some props to nieman for being a walk-on and playing some D like he was against one of the best players in the NCAA.

we only came back because Alabama was sucking it up and we got lucky...if Grant learns not shoot a 3 pointer as he's coming down from his jump it might have been a different game

We don't have those types of players anymore...the best all around player we have right now is Ben McCauley--he seems to do just about everything he's supposed to do. Fells is lazy and doesn't play defense, Costner needs to spend more time on the perimeter than he does, Grant does NOT need to be shooting 3 pointers.

i'd rather watch a team that knows how to run an offense than a team that doesn't

I like how most of the Herb-haters are happy with a loss, but whatever Lowe is the man.

Alabama is vastly overrated and we just aren't very good. UVA lost to App State for crying out loud. Wofford lost to Elon today. We have played pretty poorly since the Michigan game. But we are without our best player/shooter Engin. Engin also would be playing point and Gavin would be off the ball where he can do his thing. 3 point shooting/shot selection/rebounding is awful right now.

McCauley even said they didn't even run an offense tonight and that's why the first half was crap

i dont' care what they do or how they do it so long as it's structured. Herb created structure--you guys hated it, but at least there was something. I haven't seen anything that even looks remotely structured this season.

And we still suck at rebounding. Can't blame Herb for that anymore...

but good game overall, due of course mainly to the comeback. they scrapped and never stopped fightin. although in the first half the team reminded me of one of herb's. seemed apathetic, offense was crap. but they got it together and almost pulled it out. i felt so good after the game tonight. gg boys.

and yes, i too, thought the crowd was terrible. i had courtside seats and it felt like me and my two friends next to me were the only ones making any noise most of the time. but i donno, i couldn't really judge from where i was. i'm not used to sitting that low and all i could really hear was myself. but im definitely disappointed that with all the excitement people seem to be expressing with lowe and our bright future we can't really come close to selling out a game against a top 10 team.

Knee and ankle problems of late have limited Bama’s Ron Steele, who was being touted as one of the nation’s top point guards in the preseason. And Neiman is still starting because Lowe wants Ferguson to play before he has starting pressure. I imagine if Ferguson gets confidence from some experience, he'll probably get time over Neiman.
As far as our loss, I think the passes that we constantly threw away shot us in the foot. Our rebounding was pretty lame for a lot of it, too.

I find it hilarious. People saying 'best loss EVER!!!!!!!!!!' I mean I'm not disappointed with any loss this year but I'm not going to act like I'm jumping up and down with a huge smile on my face as we lose... It's just ridiculous.

I firmly believe that Sidney Lowe is going to do great things here. However, I'm not going to sit here and say he is the next Coach K or Dean Smith or Bobby Knight at this point, yet..

There is just a lot of revisionist history going on these days when it comes to our basketball program and I have a problem with that. It's unfair to the old players who have come through the program and it's unfair to the old coaches/assistants who have moved on.

Whatever though. Sidney is doing a great job but it's not like we were in the depths of the college bball world the past couple of years like a lot of people are making out .. that's all.

This isn't about the old coach at all, it's about people being disingenious...

About Gavin.. I think people are being a bit tough on him. He is not a 1. He is more of a combo wingman type and he is being asked to play in a role he isn't suited for. I think he has done a pretty damn good job this year and he has certainly shown he is a team player to play in a role he knows he isn't suited for. When Atsur gets back I think we'll see a dramatic increase in Gavin's productivity and a decrease in the negatives..

the next day i still feel like we couldve won if trevor got major minutes. i was so upset as we pissed away the game while a walk on got major minutes and we lacked guard play. nieman is an offensive liability. when the ball goes to him everything resets.

also last night I realized we're not making the tournament this year and we just might be last int he ACC

i had this blind hope that most of you guys do that we're not really going to be that bad, but when i saw how many passes were intercepted and how many ill-advised shots were taken...well that all changed

If Herb stays, maybe we still have Brackman, maybe we still have Ced, maybe we still have everyone who was supposed to come here, and most of all maybe we still have an offense that at least works so we can beat a team like Virginia and compete against WVU

they are getting PAID by doing what they are. we all KNEW brackman was not going to play all 4 years, too much money in MLB to take chances at a injury while playing basketball. after last season when he injured his hip during basketball and had it affect his baseball game, it was a done deal he was not coming back.

we would still have his two recruits though.
