Whole family going at 9:30. I'm so happy...but at same time I feel odd...Mom and Pops kept telling me to stop watching cartoons-but now they want to go see this movie...oh well. At least I get to go for free and get dinner out of it.

There's nothing to suggest they are...the Thundercracker figure from the movie line is a G1 repaint of the Starscream figure.

i thought the first half was awesome, and the second half was good

the robots fighting robots scenes werent as good as robots vs. humans

i thought it was redonkulous that megatron would just have his chest exposed in a way for shia to shove that fucking cube into and kill him. what a lame way for megatron to be killed by some kid.

john turturro's character was way over the top and more annoying that anything

Shia was awesome. He and bumblebee were an excellent team. Megan Fox was hot.
anthony anderson was pretty funny funny as well.

The second half just couldn't compare to the first. When the transformers were peeing and hiding underhouses three stooges style i cringed and just thought, "dammit michael bay"

one more thing, at the end, when megatron and optimus prime slam through a building, did anyone else thing that shot looked REALLY fake.

having said all that, probably the best movie of the summer so far.

After the credits, they should of shown some construction vehicles digging up dinosaur bones. A robot peeping out behind some trees in the distance. BOOYAH!!

i had a good time watching it

caught myself a few times reaching for the remote to hit the FF button

im still trying to figure out how much i liked it. the robot on robot fighting was just happening too fast and it was hard to kinda figure out what was happening.

there were several times that i wanted to hit slow motion so i could see the detail of the transformers

i agree that the humans v/s the transformers were better

i wish bonecrusher had gotten more TV time and the decepticons needed more / some group interaction

could have been better but it would have been 3 hours long to pull it all off

I'm surprised that I didn't really mind the exposed mouth on Prime.

What did piss me off a little is the incorrect subtitle where Brawl refers to himself as "Devastator." Not only is it wrong, but if they're going to try to maintain accuracy in the sequel, that would mean the giant Constructicon combiner would need a different name.

I thought the movie was awesome. These days, I try to keep myself away from as much information about movies like these as possible until I see it for myself, aside from the occasional trailer. This move definitely reached beyond my original expectations.

^ The theater I went was playing the original TV show on the TVs in their lobby. It did make me want to go back and catch some episodes now.

Effects were awesome. Impossible to tell what the hell is going on in high-motion / fighting scenes because the robots have so many moving parts, it just looks like a blur of machinery.

I don't know anything about the Transformers cartoons, but I really enjoyed this movie.

I was really disappointed that only Megatron and Frenzy got any real screen time out of all the Decepticons. Its understandable that not every bot can have its own monologue but damn! Bonecrusher and Brawl (Devastator -> WTF!? ) barely registered in the film. Frenzy had waaaayyyy to many scenes and that stupid fucking Gremlin noise he made was irritating.

Other than that it fucking rocked and I can;t wait for the sequels. Hopefully they'll feature more character development with the bots and less with the humans.

I also agree with vinylbandit about Prime's lips, much less distracting than I thought they'd be

just got back. damn good movie. last part lasted a little long and was a little confusing (as other people have said) but it's the kind of movie that while watching you're just thinking, "damn i wanna see this again. soon"

and i thought shia was great also. i couldnt think of a better person to fill that role

Everything that has been said is pretty much how I feel. Great movie, met / exceeded expectations, a little slow in the middle, some fight scenes hard to follow, dialog a little cheesy at times, incredible animation, all in all an incredible move.

the fact that they drop Megatron in the quote "deepest" trench of the ocean leads me to believe that they are going to allow for development of a Decepticon base (which was originally at the bottom of the ocean) and that Megatron is not actually dead or will be revived.

remember, Wratchet (i think thats who it was) told Optimus that if he put the allspark into his chest it MIGHT kill him not that it definitely would

not to mention that in the beginning of the cartoon movie, Optimus is actually killed by Megatron before Megatron is turned into Galvatron by Unicron

The movie was exactly as I had hoped to expect, so I can't say it was bad. It's definitely worth seeing in the theatres above anything, but my only complaint is the ridiculous amount of advertisement throughout the film. That was the only thing quite disgusting about it.

Anybody know anything about that "untitled JJ Abrams" project they showed a trailer for in the movie?

^ The movie isn't bad, and it looks wonderful, but it just isn't what it could be. I'm especially mad about the ridiculous re-characterization of Bumblebee that occurs in the last five minutes of the movie, and the complete and utter misuse of Starscream. I know this movie isn't G1, and they can only do so much while introducing the story. I wasn't expecting character pieces on all the robots. Hell, I wasn't even expecting each robot to get more than one character-defining line. But I was expecting a little bit of character range among the robots, especially when the G1 characters had such a cool range of personalities, and instead I got blandsville, and in the case of the Decepticons, cannon fodder.

Hopefully Starscream will have a larger role in the sequel. The Dinobots will no doubt be created when the Allspark shard's power is released near some animatronic dinosaurs (like the ones at the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios). They come to life with limited intelligence and attack everything in sight. Since Spielberg is the producer it would be kind of funny to have some pseudo Jurassic Park scenes in the film with dinosaurs running around a city.

I'd say Starscream was pretty in character, the only thing we didn't get from him was a "Megatron has fallen, I'm the new leader!!!"

Then again, by the time Megatron took any damage, every other Decepticon was dead, so that really wouldn't have made much sense anyway.

I can see Starscream taking lead of the Decepticons in the next movie. He could convince the others to help him get the Allspark shard from Prime with the promise of reviving Megatron, though he really only wants it for himself to take over Earth.

He'll get the shard but fuck it up and create the Dinobots who in turn kick the shit out of him.

Dude I'm fucking writing this script. No Megatron until #3.
