This is my first midnight release... But I believe you must have the game pre-ordered and you will receive yours in the order that you arrive. I'm gonna get in line ~9pm if I can. 9/12/2007 4:41:39 PM |

Most places are only able to get enough copies for pre-orders most of the time. So if you didn't pre-order you might want to go by some places and see if any of them are getting more than they pre-ordered(not many if any). 9/13/2007 5:35:33 PM |

well i can understand that but i mean, those little boxes that are divvied up from one tv isn't exactly a good way to experience the game. Why not just dial your friends up on Live! and everyone gets their own TV, just raise shit that way? That's what I'm doing... 9/17/2007 10:24:33 AM |

^^ Because out of the usual group I play with, 1 out of 5 has live
2 of them live with fiancee's, so no live
1 lives out in the boondocks and doesn't get cable
1 doesn't have a 360
5th has live
lol, apparently I hang out with a bunch of cavemen 9/17/2007 10:54:27 AM |

I want to beat it by myself first, and probably will within a day or 2.

Just a heads up, MS may be handing out perma bans to people playing Halo 3 early by any means (bought early, pirated). Apparently, even you don't try to play it online, the next time you logon Live will see the record of you playing it an ban your account.
http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/19-09-2007-6492.html
And with that said, if anyone still thinks its worth the risk, Newegg.com is selling and shipping Halo 3.

Famitsu Loves Halo 3
The most respected gaming magazine in Japan has put Halo 3 through its paces, and the verdict is now in. Four reviewers took the game on and Bungie's latest walked away with a score of 10/9/9/9. Relatively huge scores for the game in a country where the Xbox 360 is floundering horribly and infamous hatred of all things Xbox/FPS.
--------------
Honestly I'm waiting for the western reviews, don't particularly trust Famitsu. I mean, I'm getting the title obviously regardless, but fun to see how it's being received. 9/19/2007 1:06:48 PM |

Quote : | "Microsoft has backtracked on its original threat to ban the LIVE accounts of gamers who have purchased Halo 3 early following high street retailer Argos' admin error.
Earlier today, a Microsoft rep told Pro-G that gamers who played Halo 3 early would have their LIVE accounts banned. The rep also confirmed that Microsoft was able to ban accounts based on information collected by the console which showed when the game was played.
However, Pro-G has since been contacted by another MS rep, who said the ban only applies to Microsoft employees.
What this means for those of you lucky enough to have taken advantage of the Argos error is that you can start playing the game, if you already weren't, free from retribution.
A full statement from Microsoft on the Halo 3 banning scandal is expected soon." |

Smith mentioned that Bungie will be releasing information on matchmaking, a few how to guides, some Forge talk, a tour of Bungie.net and a special two hour podcast will be released too. But then Luke messes with our heads mentioning that Bungie will reveal a "long awaited pre-launch surprise" sometime before September 25th. How dare he dangle such a large carrot in front of us." |

More on Forge Mode (level editing):
Quote : | "Player and Editor Mode
When the Forge loads, it should seem strangely familiar. You start off in Player Mode, which has all of the same controls and abilities as a normal player. You can move around freely, shoot whatever catches your eye, and use objects as you see fit. If you brought friends with you, you can get right down to business and shoot them up a bit.
But that’s not what you’re here in the Forge for.
Press Up on the D-pad. Your HUD will change, and you’ll find yourself in Editor Mode. In this mode, you assume the guise of a Monitor, a free flying ball of omnipotence with controls similar to the free camera in Saved Films, or flying a Banshee. If neither ring a bell, there is a handy control reference on the Start button.
Unlike that most famous of Monitors, 343 Guilty Spark, you’re still vulnerable to damage, but it takes a steady shot to hit a moving Monitor. Evasive maneuvers will serve you as well as a gun, but there’s a bit more to Editor Mode than simply dodging bullets. You see, Editor Mode is where the magic happens." |
