Is it just me or is there something about the suit--particularly the cowl--that's not quite right?

right, you are. it's the faux-cheek bones, or something.

really this thing has unnecessary lines all over it. although i must give my opinion w/ the disclaimer that i did not particularly enjoy batman begins.

^ Really? Heresy! But you do think it was better than the other Batman movies, yes?

PS: I agree about the "lines" on the suit.

burton's 'batman' is in my top 5 movies ever. i mean, just about anything is better than batman forever and batman and robin. but batman begins didn't touch batman, imo.

I think people enjoyed Batman Begins because it was not only a great movie but a testament to the darker, edgier Batman films that Burton made. But more than that, it brought a modern edge and a new life to the franchise.

it makes the Bat Suit look too much like the Val Kilmer batman...

i'll admit something, i enjoyed the Val Kilmer batman (it was really the design of the movie that made me not like Batman: Forever, that and Robin, he coulda been axed out of hte whole thing and it would have been a 15x better movie), but it's not really a look that needs to be gone back to...

Seriously? People always tell me this and, aside from the nostalgia factor (and c'mon people, just because it was awesome as kids does NOT make it awesome now) this movie is generally pretty damn crappy.

does nobody like Batman Returns? Granted it is nowhere as good as Begins and Nicholson's Batman, but it was still a pretty solid movie.

Burton's Batmans may have been darker, but they were quite campy, too. i wouldn't call them "edgy".

all i can really say is that i disagree. jack nicholson and michael keaton both nail their respective characters. good writing, dark, not cheesy (imo). i mean, the batplane looks like shit if you watch it now, but you can't fault the movie for that. just my opinion.

that trailer says a lot. gotham was awesome, and per the quote keaton and nicholson did a great job. It had such a comic bookish feel back then that still holds up today. One of the best comic book to movie translations thats ever been done still. check out that joker laugh.

PS "im batman"

Batman Begins was awesome.. the best one to me. The one with the Penguin was the worst...

I don't like the purely comic book, unrealistic shit... Begins was so awesome because it was believable with a real crime syndicate and everything.. I'm expecting The Dark Knight to be even better... I can't wait.

*** I know a lot of "Batman traditionalists" will say the comic booky stuff is what Batman is, but that's just the way I feel..

Nicholson, yes. Keaton, no--and I like him in other roles. But there is no way that Michael Keaton was ever Bruce Wayne. Sorry.

Nailed it.

If some want camp, let them watch the 1966 Batman series. If they want comic-book style, let them read a comic book/graphic novel and/or watch a cartoon series--and I still do both. But when I go to see a live-action superhero movie, I want to see a serious interpretation.

Keaton's Batman is okay. It stands up though just cause he's better than Val Kilmer and George Clooney.

Nicholson has done the best character for all the movies, with Danny Devito a close second.

Liam Neeson is a good actor and he did Ra's al-Ghul allright. That character is just hurt cause most people don't know him.

Who would play Harley Quinn if she were allowed to be in this movie?

Quote :

It adds to the comic book feel for the better. That Gotham is a degenerate place with all these freaks running around and Batman is one crazyass crimefighter to be going in these places.

I think the best of the original 4 movies was the second one just cause it's a much darker film in hindsight.

There was a short-lived series a few years ago called Birds of Prey where she was done pretty well by Mia Sara.

I liked the first batman(1989) the best. Best costume and batmobile by far.

Batman begins was great and gave new hope to the dying franchise.

Im VERY excited about the new batman movie.

Batman has evolved with the times. We all see the character differently. I really kinda like "The Batman" on WB right now. At first it was too different from my beloved early to mid 90s Kevin Conroy voiced Batman, but its got its own style that works.

Movies=
1960s with Adam West- Yeah it counts. Shark repellent spray? Come on!

1989 Batman would have not been as good without Nicholson for sure but kicks ass still

Batman Returns= I don't like it as much as I used to. The style of the movie is a little strange. and come on nobody is voting for a dude like that as mayor. Christopher Walken just didn't click either.

Batman Forever- Over the top but eh not terrible. Bats is just a little too superhero like here

Batman and Robin- Completely over the top. Just a waste of film. Burn it. Only saw it once. Mr Freeze is difficult to do correctly EXCEPT ON THE EARLY 1990s TV SHOW THEY DID A GREAT JOB WITH IT

Batman Begins- how it should be. I hope they don't make him rely too much on gadgets though. KEEP THIS GOING DON'T FUNK IT UP

Ledger could work. I just can't wait to see what the hell they actually have the Joker do. He has changed more than anybody over the last 60+ years!

and there's other things like the old movie serials and the radio shows written during the time period in which the character was initially created

and years of super-friends and being on scooby-doo

they're all part of the same mythic character

that costume was definitely badass, but it always makes me laugh b/c i don't think michael keaton could turn his head in the head gear. so whenever he looks to one side or the other, he always does this dramatic full-body turn.

^^ Yeah, I find myself torn between the two Batman cartoons on right now: Batman and The Batman. I like each for different reasons--so I just set the DVR for both.

What about Bjork? She may be a little old for the part, but she's just pixieish and crazy enough to be Joker's sidekick. What say you?

yeah that would just be too much

The Batman actually has Bruce Wayne having to do stuff and hiding stuff from friends and the police. Their Joker is a bit much though- the standard for ME is the Joker from the 90s cartoon.
