well that does seem to be what it looks like is going to happen, but I think it's so stupid that these cylons just all happened to be working together on the same boat that just happened to survive the initial attack and all subsequent incursions.

All this is in the 3 or 4 good episodes of s3.

Season 4 spoilers
-Apollo gets distracted by head-starbuck and gets pwned flying into a heavy-raider
-Hotdog single handedly defeats the entire cylon army
-Adama adopts Hotdog as the son he always wanted and promotes him to cag
-Helo does some emo shit even worse than apollo and hotdog orders him to sacrifice himself for the good of the fleet by flying into a heavy-raider
-4 episode arc where hotdog is captured by the cylons, but manages to escape by infecting them all with his various STDs
-They get to earth
-Hotdog looses his captured basestar by accidentally flying it into the moon
-The dudes who are infact cylons realize how bad their cover of all along the watch tower really is, and fling themselves out the airlocks. Except for tigh b/c hes p. cool
-More cylons appear for some reason and attack the BSG
-Adama, Hotdog, and the members of SG1 travel to the past to get some whales which they then beam into the really important parts of the cylon ships which blows them up.
-The fleet is welcomed to earth and adama becomes the head of stargate command.
-hotdog joins SG1 for an all new straight to dvd stargate movie which owns.

I believe you forgot that hotdog impregnates all the females of the fleet on earth and in fact, begins human population of earth superhumans. Then he goes into the past/future (depending on where they are compared to SG1 in the timeline.

That's no harder to believe than nearly the entire set of 20+ recurring characters surviving all that too. Who's to say they didn't have subconscious nudges to be where they needed to be?

What would really make me roll my eyes would be them finding a prehistoric or even present-day earth. The 4 revealed cylons hearing a cover of a 1969 song that, from the view they gave in the season finale, looked like much more than 40 light years away. The most compelling reason to think this is that the closest nebula to earth is the Helix nebula at 680 ly away, ignoring that it's the wrong color anyways.

Sure the cylons can obviously transmit things much faster than light- evident from their downloading. That doesn't have anything to do with radio transmissions though. It seems reasonable that either:

1.) The signal was just a cylon signal, though any explanation for why they'd pick a bad cover of a bob dylan song would feel contrived and mildly retarded.
2.) It is at least 640 years into the future, probably 20-40 more than that. This means they're either going to find a dead earth or an incredibly technologically advanced one- perhaps a threat to the fleet itself.

Option 1 would leave me feeling like I did after that last season of heroes. Having it be present day or earlier just doesn't make sense unless the cylons had already been to earth- in which case their use of the music as some sort of wakeup switch is silly and contrived.

Yeah the show's producer's already stated that it's not meant to be a song from earth. Well then... don't use such an iconic and easily identifiable song you lazy pricks.

Man it is something to see so many people so passionate about the show.

Joss Whedon had some great comments and Joel Mchale provided great comedy about it.

After watching a few of them, I miss season one: things were so much simpler then.

FYI: if you have not picked up Season 3's soundtrack you need to. It may be the best soundtrack to a show or movie that is all instrumental of all time.

the electic mix of various styles, instruments, and beats is worth any price. I got mine off amazon.

What I think about Starbuck: Starbuck traveled near the speed of light to get to earth, and so because of time dilation, the months to her seemed like a few hours. Then the writers invent something like the speed scrambled her nav computer.

Gaeda is the last cylon. We won't hear about him for a while, because they want us to forget about him... Why is he the last cylon? 3 of the 4 cylons were the heads of the resistance on New Caprica. Gaeda was also part of the resistance. Also, he whispered that shit to Baltar and stabbed him in the neck with the pen.
