i thought it was good and followed the other 3 movies

George Lucas' only purpose in life is to undo all good he has done in the past.

Just got back from seeing this a while ago. Thought it was decent. I'm gonna wait and see it again sometime this week to judge whether it's got the sentimentality of the other three, but I'm doubting it. The whole Marion relationship/shia is my kid shit was lame. And I personally just don't like the dependence of CGI even in movies where they're useful like this one. ...[Edited on May 22, 2008 at 4:40 PM. Reason : l]

Damn right. I was excited when I read that they would avoid CGI as much as possible, but from what I've seen and heard it looks like most of the finale is CGI.
5/22/2008 4:22:04 PM
I think ILM has too much invested to not use it in their movies to some degree. The parts about that that seriously irritated me were the prairie dogs and monkies. The ants I could deal with and some of the other stuff at the end was fine; but don't make a bunch of cute bullshit scenes with it just because you can...[Edited on May 22, 2008 at 4:29 PM. MINDFUCKED.
5/22/2008 4:41:58 PM
lol.Initial feedback seems pretty bad. I was hoping it wasn't going to be the run of the mill action movie that has been coming out lately. Although entertaining, it is nothing special.
5/22/2008 5:05:34 PM
for the record; the russian chick; i'd hit that.[Edited on May 22, 2008 at 6:08 PM. Reason : and i was hoping indy would]

went to a midnight showing last night (or rather this morning) and was highly disappointed. It was ok, but could have been so much more
5/22/2008 7:44:28 PM
I feel like answering some questions from the front page.No. There are no Nazis in this film.
5/22/2008 8:39:07 PM
i liked it. not the best indy movie but imo still better than temple of doom.
5/22/2008 8:45:56 PM
why is there so much hate for Temple of Doom? I really enjoy that one.
5/22/2008 8:50:06 PM
cuz that bitch is annoying
5/22/2008 8:56:13 PM
^^
5/22/2008 8:59:51 PM
and he didn't really discover anything in that one. he just stole those gay ass stones from the cult leader
5/22/2008 9:01:01 PM
a cult leader who was a badass and ripped a dude's still-beating heart out of some Indian's chest before burning him alive.
5/22/2008 9:04:45 PM
this movie was awesome

sinking in quicksand scene is the best one so far...about 1hour 10 minutes in
5/22/2008 9:44:23 PM
UFOs? really?
5/22/2008 10:44:46 PM
god damn...i got 5 minutes to go but the last 20 minutes have really sucked
5/22/2008 10:54:16 PM
just saw this tonight.story was incredibly unbelievable. but for what it was, it was a decent movie.
5/22/2008 11:07:49 PM
What was so believable about the first three aside from the melting Nazis, in-vivo heart removal, and 800 year old knights in caves?
5/22/2008 11:13:03 PM
hahahahhahai was entertainedthe whole time
5/22/2008 11:20:57 PM

5/22/2008 11:21:02 PM
i didn't say they were all completely believable, but this one was waaaaaaaay out there.
5/22/2008 11:25:42 PM
i hated how it just jumped in at the beginning...i thought a lot of the dialogue was bad...i definitely got a "cheesy 50's movie" vibe from it....fastforwarded through the jungle scene where that lebouf dude has one leg on each car...the final 30 minutes were just dreadful to me...i was just ready for the movie to be over at that point
5/22/2008 11:28:00 PM
5/22/2008 11:36:08 PM
no i didnt know that at all thank you, that totally clears everything up nowdo you love cereal?]

I LOVE CEREAL

saw it today..was fairly entertained, yet at the same time, fairly unimpressed..For me, I feel like films really take a beating when they don't include enough good scenery. For instance.. Raiders of the Lost Ark had a wide variety of different areas. Area they pick up marion, snake pit, university, submarine, submarine dock, etc.Temple of doom had the whole, (i assume it was) china town fiasco, the plane trip through whatever mountains, river trip, fucked up indian desolation, the palace, the mines, the rope swing/alligators, etc.Last Crusade had mad scenes of different settings..I felt like IF4 was really limited to the university, jungle, and mesoamerican temple. Anyone feel me on this?
5/22/2008 11:46:28 PM
yeah...i thought something similar when i watched
5/22/2008 11:49:47 PM
5/23/2008 12:00:44 AM
i agree a lot with PirateARRRnyEntertaining, enjoyable but totally unimpressiveAliens? are you serious? ALIENS? Indiana Jones movies have some far fetched things, spirits and whatnot, but aliens is seriously out of that realm. Talking about different dimensions and stuff... that doesnt belong in Indiana Jones. It kept me watching, but was cheesy, unbelieveable and overall puts a bit of a sour taste when you think of it as a part of the other trilogy
5/23/2008 12:27:57 AM
I enjoyed it.Although sometimes it felt like something out of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. I guess it was the constant reminders that "hey, it's the 1950s."Good movie, though.

i didnt hate itbut i would rank it 4thT1. Raiders, Crusade3.Temple of Doom4. Skullsfor some reason i like the biblical ones...[Edited on May 23, 2008 at 12:39 AM. Reason : oiououioiuoiu]
5/23/2008 12:38:15 AM
^ i agree with that listthe biblical ones were enjoyable because there is the slight hint that maybe some of it is/was true regardless of what you believe.i mean maybe you believe in aliens... but that part was a huge disappointment for meand without hearing about it first i called the whole Indy the 3rd thing
5/23/2008 12:44:13 AM
i do want to know if small scorpions are the more toxic ones, while larger ones are not ????
5/23/2008 1:08:25 AM
Went to go see it tonight...got through the previews, and then, nothing. Black screen. Turns out the second copy of the movie they got was bad or just plain missing and our theater couldn't jump into the other showing because we'd miss too much of the movie for it to be worth it. Is there anything after the credits?^I know that is true, smaller scorpions need stronger venom to kill their prey while larger ones can use both their large claws and moderate venom to kill. Sometimes you can tell how poisonous a scorpion is by the size of its claw.[Edited on May 23, 2008 at 1:27 AM. Reason : ?]

Holy fucking shit.Even worse than Temple of Doom.Wow.WOW.None of the things that made Raiders great, and all of the copouts that lesser adventure movies have used since then.
5/23/2008 3:41:40 AM
It wasn't a bad movie, but I thought the twist in the movie was really fucking lame, and I'm dissapointed by the CGI escapade of the ending. I enjoyed the fact that the way they filmed it looked like it was made in the 80s. The russian chick was pretty hot, but I hated the fact that Even Stevens was in the movie
5/23/2008 3:53:12 AM
i could deal with the aliens a biti could deal with shiai could deal with the cgibut dammit there are 2 things that make an indiana jones movieIndiana Jones beating the ever living fuck out of some goddamn nazisand (this one is important)at least one wilhelm scream(i know what you're going to say "there was one when the motorcycle was sliding" well fuck you no one got shot or hurt or fell off of anything so it doesn't count)
5/23/2008 4:49:03 AM
If they take out the whole Shia swinging with the monkeys crap then I'm okay with the movie. Better than Temple of Doom, at least.
