the reason the demo works is because i thought i read somewhere that microsoft put in that feature on purpose so you could pass demos and xbox backward compatibility updates on to friends with no internet access

I had a dilemma cause I really wanted the game for Wii but I already had 2 controllers (one wireless) for the PS2. I know I'll be playing with friends so there wasn't really a point to dropping $80 for a new game/guitar and probably another ~$60 for a second controller.

It's just a simple firmware change on your 360 DVD drive to make it not look for the digital signature. And no, it doesn't stop you from hooking up to XBL.

Man, I really like that new Les Paul Guitar. It feels very solid, but also lightweight too somehow. My only complaint so far is without the cord I tend to move a bit more. I've already accidentally used the star power in every song I've played with it so far.
