I don't remember Meryl throwing them out there. Though I think she did in previous games.

So I've been playing Metal Gear Online a bit. It's not terrible, and the controls translate fairly well to online play. I'm actually mildly impressed with the amount of polish it seems to have, as you'd think an online mode for Metal Gear Solid would be something they just tacked on. Not so, it's more or less a fully fleshed out online shooter.

The whole Konami ID thing is just stupid, but it only takes about 5 minutes to setup and then you never have to worry about it again. My only complaint right now is how easy it is to get headshots. I took the Assault Rifle skill, which reduces recoil, and using the M4 I can just strafe across the general head area of multiple targets at intermediate to close range and it one shots them all. They need to either increase recoil or just make the hitbox for the head smaller.

Also, I'm running through the game again on Boss Extreme, and it's a completely different experience. Whereas on Solid Normal you could just rambo your way through a lot of the set pieces, on the higher difficulty level stealth becomes an absolute necessity.

Ok, I got this from another forum, totally awesome

How do you fire a grenade with the grenade launcher attachment for a rifle? I got the thing but can't figure out how to fire a damn grenade. No instructions on this anywhere. Help a brother out.

i hid under the APC to the right when the event started, and waited for her to either catch my scent, or wander by in the distance. shooting her once would make her run at me, but she couldn't touch me in melee so she'd go back and try to snipe me. after 3 headshots, she was dead.

after killing each of the B&Bs, the game felt kinda like megaman.

"Something happened to me last Thursday when I was going home. I had a couple of miles to go when I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky to the East. It was moving very irregularly, suddenly there was intense light all around me and when I came to I was home. What do you think happened to me?

...Infiltrate... ...the enemy fortress... ...Outer Heaven... ...Destroy... ...the final weapon... ...Metal Gear...

Actually there is something I have been meaning to tell you but I just couldn't. I think you should know though. On Saturday morning last week I saw a guy leaving Rosemary's room. How should I put it, it was like they were intimate. I'm sorry, sorry to bring this up during the mission, but...

President Baker should be somewhere to the South of where you blasted through the wall. Hurry and save him before the terrorists discover his code.

Snake, remember what De Gaulle said" The graveyards are full of indispensable men." Snake, you're all alone and surrounded by bad guys. Try to be careful and avoid getting into a fight whenever you can.

You seem to get a real thrill out of slaughtering the enemy. Are you frustrated about something?

You wouldn't be trying to give yourself a bogus score using some ingenious trick would you? That's about as low as anyone could possibly stoop! I can't believe you sometimes!

Your mission is to infiltrate the fortress Galuade, rescue the hostages and neutralize Metal Gear before its assembly is complete.

Variety Level 13-Rescue Meryl," The Return of Genola".

Even my patience has its limits. I just can't leave this thing up to you any longer. I'll do the fighting! You can just go home!

An Anemone or Clematis Plant's juice can cause a rash. When Pruning them it's a good idea to wear gloves.

I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flapp-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hiri-kiri Rock! I need scissors! 61!

I was a North American Fall Webworm in my past life. Those were the good old days. What were you in your former life.

You got a PSG-1? You can use that against Sniper Wolf. Hurry up and save Meryl.

Actually I am in really bad shape financially. I pay money to my ex-wife as part of our divorce settlement, among other bills, I just had no choice but to have you pay for lunch the other day. I'm really sorry.

Honestly though you have played the game for a long time. Don't you have anything else to do with your time.

Variety Level 7-Shoot down the space invaders! Training will have to be postponed if we are invaded by UFO's.

Snake, there is a fork in the conveyor belt. The machine is automatically sorting cargo according to some system. Take a good look at the device.

Big Boss here, enter the track on the bridge to the right. Over.

Weapon Mode-Socom-Level 1-Destroy all the targets to reach the goal. Number of targets 3.

Snake, like Shakespear said " Noughts had, all's spent, where our desire is got without content." Basically what it means is that your desire can get you into a lot of trouble if you're not careful. That goes for items too. Don't get too greedy or you might be sorry. Be careful Snake.

I say again. Your duty is to infiltrate Zanzibar Land. And seize Kio Marf, an abducted Czechoslovakian biologist.

Zz...zzz.

Snake, they've input both detonation codes. The only way to stop the launch now is to use the card key to re-input the codes.

That reminds me, I saw Gubayama in Shibomnigee. He said to give you his best.

Snake, take the power plant out. Set C4 explosives on four key points to destroy the structure. Snake, destroy the power plant's main turbine. It's located on B1 floor of the plant. Break into the B1 floor.

Munch, munch...Um? Raiden? I'm eating right now. Get back to me later...munch...munch....

La-li-lu-le-lo! La-li-lu-le-lo! La-li-lu-le-lo!

I'm not home right now please leave a message after the beep. BEEP

Mind the gap.

I can't believe it -- that someone who has committed all of those twisted acts in the women's bathroom would make it this far... this is the end of the world."

When I got the game, I was like then after the first 30 mins of cut scenes and only being able to play 2 mins the I was admiring the graphics and trying to understand the storyline. Then an hour later, I got lost then stopped caring, then it got annoying to press start and exit like 4 times in a row to end cut scenes...

I donno wtf was going on, but when I actually did play, it's not a bad game. I also was disappointed with the APC section with it not being long enough, I mean it was only like 30 seconds of play time... You'd think with how sophisticated the ps3 is that maps would be bigger and longer without huge load times or the programmers to figure out a seamless loading scheme.

And seriously, why do they have to port over the annoying video/cell phone/radio conversation pieces from the previous MGS'. Too many damn distractions for a game that's pretty short and story line that gives the new meaning to "running off in a tangent".

At least it looks pretty, but I do notice in HD some rendering errors such as the DOF isn't processed through transparent surfaces or textures such as glasses or spaces between hair fibers on the head.

So to be honest I'm like 50/50 with this game. I think it's a wonderful story but I just wish all the gameplay was like Act 4. I had the most fun there. I think I'll enjoy it ten times more when I replay it because I can skip all the cutscenes.

I actually switched the port of the PS3 controller while fighting Mantis before Campbell tells me and Otacon calls and is like. Uh WTF are you doing Snake? It was hilarious. I blushed.

It makes me want to play all the other ones again.

the MGS1 scene reminded me of how much easier it was to navigate with the cone radar thing. I want to play MGS2 so I can fight with a sword and fight Olga again and I want to play MGS3 again because it was the best one by far and Naked Snake is the fucking man.

I did this as well. Also, in that part in Act 4 when Otacon tells you to put in Disc 2 I literally was like "WTF I got gipped" cause I bought the game used.

Anyway, have any of you guys gotten the bandana/stealth? I'm going to start my second go-around, but I'm curious, how do you defeat bosses without "killing" them? Or do boss-kills not count?

Also, were any of you guys able to get thru the boat portion of Act 5 without any alerts? I tried doing it stealthily AT LEAST 20 times before giving up and just running and gunning it through.

^You have to beat them using only the tranquilizer gun, and then during the sequence where they are shambling around like zombies, search around the area for an idol of each boss.

For anyone who's done the No Kills/Alerts, is there any point in beating the beast form of the bosses in non-lethally?

not unless you're also trying to get the statues for the solar gun during that run (the frog's in act 1 and the four beasts have to be done none lethally the whole way through to get them)

Ah shit, there's a doll you need to get for the FROGs in Act 1? Guess I missed that. I'm on Act 3 now with no kills or alerts. I guess I'll get it on my next go around when I've got the stealth. BTW, is the stealth a camo that you wear or is it an item that you have to equip (like in MGS1)?
